Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

A challenge that you can do more
Revisado: 04-14-25
I love the candid insights the author provides about his own motivations and how they help define the next steps he takes at every intersection his life takes. I find myself saying, “what would Goggins do?” and it motivates me to keep going. Just when we think we’ve done all we can, Goggins proves to us, there’s still more to give. He makes me want to try harder and to stop making excuses when things get hard. Life’s hard. Goggins gives you the strength to take life by the wheel and drive it in ways you never thought you could.

Historia
Stopped at a familiar intersection on her way to work, Ginger Sprouse watched the homeless man pacing the garbage-strewn ground in his bare feet. Compelled to pull over and say hello, she was drawn to his exuberant joy and infectious smile. And his ready acceptance of her was a welcome counterpoint to her internal struggle with guilt and shame at her past. Over the next few months, Ginger would learn that Victor had been returning to that spot because it was the last place he had seen his mother - three years earlier.

Transparent and Candid Self Analysis
Revisado: 04-09-25
The author’s transparency and candid openness around her own decisions and the consequences of them - good and bad - makes this a valuable lesson in personal growth. I enjoyed the many themes she discussed, contrary to other reviews, because no one’s life is a singular narrative. Our life journeys are influenced by a myriad of circumstances, and I appreciate the path the author took us down to tells us hers.

Working Backwards is a practical guidebook and a corporate narrative, filled with the authors’ in-the-room recollections of what “Being Amazonian” is like and how it has affected their personal and professional lives. They demonstrate that success on Amazon’s scale is not achieved by the genius of any single leader, but rather through commitment to and execution of a set of well-defined, rigorously executed principles and practices - shared here for the very first time.

Why do some products get more word of mouth than others? Why does some online content go viral? Word of mouth makes products, ideas, and behaviors catch on. It's more influential than advertising and far more effective. Can you create word of mouth for your product or idea? According to Berger, you can. Whether you operate a neighborhood restaurant, a corporation with hundreds of employees, or are running for a local office for the first time, the steps that can help your product or idea become viral are the same.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Great story, interesting characters
Revisado: 09-04-23
I’m not a traditional Stephen King reader, but enjoyed The Outsider so much - and saw traditional King fans giving this book a thumbs down - that I thought I might like it, and I was right! Annoyed with the number of times Trump was mentioned as his relevance to the story was zero. I thought King might bring in politics since it could be highly relevant to the story, but he didn’t so it really just didn’t make any sense. Characters were interesting.. I really hated moving on from Tim without any back and forth. He and his town were interesting and I thought would re-enter sooner.

Great, but lacking some for the grieving
Revisado: 02-04-22
Really great dive into the truth of who God is and a good re-grounding into Christianity’s most basic truths about God. If you’re grieving it’s not necessarily a soft journey into healing but it certainly is a good starting point in remembering our savior and who he is.

Great advice and insight
Revisado: 02-28-21
There’s some really insightful and enlightening stories buried in this book that will certainly make me a better horseman. While I found the female narrator annoyingly slow and unnatural, when I sped her up to 1.4 it was perfect!
Don’t stop reading after the first chapter she narrates. While I don’t think it was the best story to start with.. I stuck with it and really gained some new perspectives thanks to the other stories in the book.
