Historia
After an adventurous season spent excavating at Dahshoor, and narrowly averting the clutches of the Master Criminal, Victorian Egyptologist Amelia Peabody Emerson and her spouse prepare for a quiet summer in England. The social and domestic routine, though interrupted by the precocious escapades of their only child, Ramses, hardly seems much of a challenge for the indomitable Emersons.

Great story well read
Revisado: 03-14-20
This is the second time I've listened to the story, and the narration is excellent - drawing me in to the characters straight away. I don't have all of the books in the series from Audible, but have filled in the gaps by reading them from the library. My mental voice is replicating Barbara Rosenblat!

Historia
Amelia Peabody, archaeologist and woman extraordinaire, should have greeted the approaching excavation with transports of joy. Nothing in the world could compare with exploring the muddy, musty corridors of some bat-infested pyramid. And at Dahshoor, to which she was headed, there existed some particularly fine specimens.

Well put together with great characters
Revisado: 03-04-20
This is my second time working through the series, and is just as enjoyable. The narrator makes the characters come alive and really draws me into the scenes.

Historia
When a high-ranking officer gallops into the quiet Mistyvales, he brings a warning that shakes the countryfolk to their roots. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. The events that follow propel Aedan on a journey that only the foolhardy or desperate would risk, leading him to the gates of the nation's royal academy - a whole world of secrets in itself. But this is only the beginning of his discoveries.

Great narration, the story drew me in
Revisado: 09-13-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Dawn of Wonder to be better than the print version?
Yes - The narrator did wonders with the characterisation.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Dawn of Wonder?
The descriptions of the exploring and the flights of fancy in the protagonists head.
What about Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performance did you like?
He had a measured pace to the reading that didn't feel rushed, but he used accents and inflections to highlight the different characters origins that felt very natural.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I started off pacing myself at one chapter per week, but half way through I had to load the rest for a solid weekend.
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to hearing the next book, this was left on a bit of a cliff-hanger.

I found it compelling and absorbing
Revisado: 12-18-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Traitor's Moon to be better than the print version?
I've not read the series, but enjoyed the listen.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tough question, with the standard two hero types - a cynical experienced older guide, and a novice/apprentice being taught how to deal with the world as imagined by the author. The narration switches between the two, and my alliegance switches with it.
What does Raymond Todd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His voice has merged entirely into the background of the story for me - which is just about as good as it gets!
Any additional comments?
I was sorry to hear the series draw to a conclusion, with no obvious dangling threads to draw me on.
