Story ruined by sound effects
Revisado: 04-27-25
Part way through chapter 8 the action starts and theres this panicked crowd sound that plays through the entire scene completely ruining the scene, i couldn't hear the narraion over the croud noise and had no idea what was going on. i had to shut it off because all i could hear was the panicked crowd sound. seriously i dont know what they were thinking, like sure use a short clip of it that fades out after a few seconds so that we can still hear the story. but it was absolutely stupid to play it the whole time. at the least fade it back to a low volume instead of having it as loud as the narrator the whole time.

Historia
The Ghosts of the Tanith First-and-Only have been away from the front line for too long. Listless and hungry for action, they are offered a mission that perfectly suits their talents. The objective: the mysterious Salvation's Reach, a remote and impenetrable stronghold concealing secrets that could change the course of the Sabbat Worlds campaign.

good book ruined by a terrible read
Revisado: 11-05-24
pro of the reader, actually irish so the irish accents in the book are authentic and fit well with the way the tanith should speak.
cons: everything else. he uses non isrish accents for characters that should have one irish accents for ones that dont. only uses a small range of voices just spoke. in a different cadence which make some of the serious brooding characters sound like they are jokesters and the laid back characters sometimes sound almost comically serious. its like he never read any of the books and even did this one as a cold read. also some of the words he seemed to struggle with and he pronounced some character names entirely differently. if the narrator changes they should at least listen to the prior book to know how the names have been pronounced the whole time.
but the most infuriating thing of all is that he isnt consistent. voices will change accents qill slip... its terrible
