Narration was really good, but book is boring, and a little too PG rated for me. I like my paranormal romance a lot spicier and less corny.

Just OK

I love dark, dry, cynical humor, but this stuff is just corny. I guess it's probably not fair to do a review, when the book lost me half way and I gave up. I got through the first 3 or 4 stories. That was all I could handle. Some of the stories had rare, funny moments, but not enough to keep my interest.

Really Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. Me. Reeve went into details about his personal struggles that made me feel as if I were there living it with him. What a strong person one has to be to endure something like this. God Bless him and his family. I’m sad that he couldn’t live long enough to see how far he could have gone. I’m especially sad that his wife had to endure her own struggles and face terminal cancer so soon after her husband’s passing. May they both Rest In Peace.

Very Informative

I knew nothing about CTE before listening to this book. After listening I’m shocked by how many people have been affected by this disease. It’s devastating and horrible with no known cure. Hopefully more education about this disease will assist people in the future. There have been too many needless deaths from it.

Not My Thing

The performances were very good, but the book was not my style. It was like listening to a movie/show. Guess that’s not my type of story to listen to. I’d rather just hear a narration of an actual book. I guess I didn’t think much of the story either. After a few hours of listening I realized I didn’t know exactly what was going on. That was my queue to get out. So I left it unfinished.

Good Story, Strange Narration

I enjoyed the story, but the narration was robotic. At first I thought I was listening to a computer tell the story. After a while I got used to it. It didn’t kill the book though, so I would still recommend a listen.

I love Diane Lane as an actress, so I was very eager to hear her narrate. I think she did a great job, and would listen to her narrate again. I just didn’t care for the story that much. It wasn’t my thing.

I loved It

I have been fascinated by the Tudor story for a long time now. The book is very detailed, and gives one a sense that they can imagine really be there at the time. The multitude of contemporary reports provided really bring these figures to life, rather than just painted portraits, and/or fictional TV shows/books. If you like reading/watching stories about Henry 8 and his 6 wives, I think you will really enjoy this.
