Historia
Once, Tomas Piety looked after his men, body and soul, as best he could. Then those who ran his country decided his dark talents would better serve in the corridors of power. Crushed by the power of the Queen's Men and with the Skanian menace rising once more on the streets of Ellinburg, Tomas Piety is forced to turn to old friends, old debts and untrustworthy alliances. Meanwhile in the capital city of Dannsburg, Dieter Vogel is beginning to wonder if the horror he has unleashed in the Martyr's Disciples might be getting out of control.

Nothing like his previous series
Revisado: 06-09-18
While this book had an interesting story line, it was a serious space drama. In the authors other series (Bob-verse) he had comedy and witty lines interwoven through the storyline. Not in this book.

absolutely, absolutely, absolutely, terrible.
Revisado: 02-19-18
George Newbern should never be allowed to narrate anything but children's books. No sense of timing, improper pronunciation of words, men sounding like women and women sounding like "dead people."
The story not much better. The main character is supposed to be a prodigy, yet couldn't anticipate his car being lojacked? The book came off as an impressive first attempt by a precocious high school student.

Historia
Evan Evans is settling into his role as Constable of Llanfair, a small town nestled in the mountains of North Wales. Here, he has been a mediator of the minor disputes of the locals, between competing ministers, country merchants, and seemingly every Welch eccentric throughout the region. But an unusual series of events brings unseen hostilities to light, and Evan realizes just how deep the townsfolk's passions and hostilities lie.

A Welsh tale in a Welsh town.
Revisado: 11-13-17
Evan help us is a slow scenic drive through the Welsh countryside on a bright Sunday afternoon. Very slow and sedate trip through a very typical Welsh town that is interrupted by a few grizzly murders, just enough to prevent things from becoming too dull in a sleepy little village. I often pictured myself traveling along a narrow windy lane while listening to this slow paced murder mystery and enjoying the views of snow-capped mountains and green valleys. The book is very well written and the characters charming and quirky, hardly the backdrop for a tense, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride hunting for a multiple murderer.
I enjoyed the book but found myself fighting to stay awake as the narrator, who was deliciously Welsh, lulled me into a peaceful sleep.
People who would enjoy this book: Neat-nicks, who like their murders as clean as their floors.
People who wouldn't like this book: Action junkies and anyone who drives over 45 on the highway.

Historia
Evan Evans is a young police constable who has traded in the violence of city life for idyllic Llanfair, a Welsh village tucked far away from trouble. Nestled among the Snowdonia mountain range, Llanfair looks to Constable Evans like a town forgotten by time, but he quickly learns that even the bucolic countryside has its share of eccentric - and deadly - characters.

Wonderful little story about a little Welsh town.
Revisado: 11-02-17
Was very nice story about an out-of-the-way Welsh village that surprisingly has many gruesome murders. Book was well written, albeit slow and not much American style action. Performance was spot on. Roger Clark's voice was perfect for this novel.'

Writing was not good. Period. Was like reading a high school essay about what someone wanted to do when they "grew" up. I know its a popular series and some people love these books, but compared with the Reacher or Gabriel Allon series, they were terrible.
People who would like this book: Individuals with literally nothing better to do and can't sleep.
People who wouldn't like this book: Everyone else.

But now that Minalan the Spellmonger has been ennobled and enfiefed, Sire Minalan has a task cut out for him that makes defeating goblins seem like child’s play: Moving his very pregnant bride and a few thousand refugees from Boval Vale into the remote, sparsely peopled Domain of Sevendor. But when he arrives, he finds the land withered from neglect, filled with superstition and suspicion.

Historia
Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but longstanding enmities dividing the Rhune make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods? The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind.
