Historia
Thurgood Marshall, the African-American lawyer who successfully argued the Brown v. Board case. Today, Marshall is best known for being the first Black Supreme Court justice, but that history-setting precedent has come to overshadow the instrumental work he did as chief counsel for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Marshall argued more cases before the Supreme Court than anyone in history and would win nearly 30 of them, including the seminal Brown v. Board case.

My Dad worked at the SCOTUS as a Police Officer for twenty years, and was there when Sandra Day O’Connor became the first female associate justice. I had the opportunity to meet Justice Marshall with my Dad but he got tied up and sent me an autographed photo and his apologies. I enjoyed this book, but at 30 minutes it’s too short for me, but I enjoyed the salient aspects of Brown v Board, Plessy v Furgeson and others that I wasn’t familiar with. I strongly recommend Audible for teens, it’s another great way to learn.
