Historia
Doc left Deep Gulch behind him, setting out to Furden to continue spreading Luck’s name. The trip to the capital of Coalrud gave him yet another opportunity to use his knowledge to start new business ventures. While the hot springs would take time to prepare— Doc had a vision for it becoming a tourist destination—that was far from the last thing he’d get involved in during his stay.

Usually love this series but it fell short.
Revisado: 05-20-23
I really enjoy this series and always find myself grinning or emotional throughout the book. However the final boxing match felt hollow. Doc knew he could win at any moment of his choosing which ruined the tension that was built throughout the book.
There could if been a whole thing about the perk being expensive but he had faith his preparation would be enough. By round 2 he knew he couldn't do it but saw he was close to getting it due to his clerics constantly working/people believing in hin and just had to last x amount of rounds. Then could of gone on about how the faith/ perk were a direct manifestation of the people he has helped and they represent goodness fighting back (cue uppercut) etc.
When comparing climaxes like when Posie was kidnapped this one felt forgettable.

Historia
Gregory and his wives fought honorably and hard to advance to the finals, where their last fight was against the Eternal Flame. With their rigorous training and communication, they managed to defeat the arrogant clan, letting them stand alongside their novice friends as champions. The excitement of being the champions wasn’t the happiest part of their year, though. That came after the tournament, when all five of their friends—Nessa, Daciana, Victoria, Clover, and Ling—joined Aether’s Guard.

Middle Book Syndrome
Revisado: 05-12-22
So I've liked each book up to this point. Each had a good build up that led to a intense conflict. However, like most large series, theres always a book that has a lack of purpose. I've started dubbing these books as having Middle Book Syndrome because the main purpose of these books seem to be the set up for the next or future book. These books often left me with the feeling that if I never read this one, I could start the next one with only missing a few nuances.

An amazing book for an amazing deal.
Revisado: 03-28-22
I've listened to about 2 audio books a week for about 6 years now, so believe me when I say I have seen the best and the worst the Literpg has to offer. This omnibus and hands down one of my favorite Literpg I've had the pleasure to listen to.
For starters the author tackles being in a VR system in a relatively rare way and comes back to that as being important to the plot. While the plot is certainly there, you'll find yourself not missing it when you listen to the character interactions. The humor in this is top notch, unlike most other literpgs where they stuff as much pop culture defenses as well for comedic effect. Each character is unique and independant (expect for one pair) of each other which allows them and their own stories to shine.
If you want to have several weeks of quality listening, I could not recommend this omnibus anymore if I tried.

Died for a cause. Johnny’s tombstone would read like something you’d find in a dime novel at a used bookstore. Going out like a snuffed candle, his life ended just as it had really begun. Now he’s been given a second chance to fight his way out of the corner he put himself into. In a world of brawls, dirty fights, and hard-hitting cultivators, he must win. Because if he loses, he’ll lose more than just the fight, and it won’t be his life. He already managed that once, after all.

What a wonderful read
Revisado: 12-07-21
I cannot express how much I loved this book. It was an amazing blend of a few of my favorite genres (underdog, cultivation, slow burn romance). The characters were dynamic and had their own goals and not just a prop to tell the MC that they're amazing.
However my favorite thing was that he made up a situation that was synonymous with readers being 'Riders', producers being the publishing house or various other parallels. It was a real treat to listen to him toe the line of breaking the 4th wall in a way that made sense.
Get this book, become a Rider and Subscribe. Just as Johnny promised, you won't regret sticking around.

Still a great story.
Revisado: 06-26-21
So people seem to be complaining about how the focus has shifted from Rugrat and Eric (Eric being the focus). What people don't realize is that in some novels the very city or landscape is a character itself. So keep in mind there are 3 main characters now.
While the narrator is different from what we are used to, he still does a great job. The only problem I find is all his voices are very masculine which makes his female characters gravelly sounding still. He would be excellent paired with a female narrator.

Historia
Dungeon Walkers brave the depths of the dungeons for personal gain - clearing a dungeon means dungeon points to purchase gear with, but more importantly, perks. Perks are the main reason Walkers put their lives on the line. Every time a dungeon is cleared the first time, a Walker gets a choice of three perks that could change their lives. Not every Walker makes it out alive. When someone dies in the dungeon, their soul is fragmented into four shards, which can be purchased for dungeon points.

Pleasantly Surprised
Revisado: 06-17-21
I have listened to this authors other works and I would describe them as comforting junk food. Fun to eat but ultimately lack substance but you know that when you buy it. This book is a complete turn around from his other works. While one is your favorite junk food, this one is a perfectly cook steak with a garlic rub and seared in wine. The characters are robust and dynamic, the romance is a slow but rich burn and the plot hints at enough that I will surely buy the next installment.

Good premise but poor execution.
Revisado: 09-13-18
While I did enjoy the set up for the main story and the setting itself, I was constantly distracted by its flaws. There were a fair number of inconsistencies that I wished were ironed either in the status of the character or the character himself. Additional while I did feel some minor attachment to the main character, the side characters felt flat or rushed to me.
While I do mostly point out flaws, I will admit I will keep this author in mind for later down the road when he hones his craft more.
