Historia
The Dalai Lama, at his most compassionate and outspoken, here elaborates and deepens his vision for the nonreligious way. Transcending the mere "religion wars", he outlines a system of secular ethics that gives tolerant respect to religion, those that ground ethics in a belief in God and an afterlife, and those that understand good actions as leading to better states of existence in future lives. And yet, with the highest level of spiritual and intellectual authority, the Dalai Lama makes a claim for what he calls a third way.

Very pathetically read!
Revisado: 03-03-20
OMG, how can you misrepresent such a truthful and humble wisdom? Read it as pathetically and over the top as Martin Sheen did. I was distracted from H.H. golden teachings by Martin Sheen's soap opera-like reading. I hope there will be a re-recording with a down-to-earth and humble voice that allows the words to sink in.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Sweet excursion into something overseen
Revisado: 02-19-20
Thank you, Michael Pollan, for bringing our attention to this addiction. It must have been tough for you to give up caffeine intake as research for this book. Quite amusing and informative work.

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Bravo to Yuval. What a painstaking and elaborate work for all the research that went into this masterpiece. His dedication makes this book so powerful and influential. It strips the unrecognized cultural and religious myths we were born into and live by. Thank you, Yuval for your hard work!

A Top 10 in all of Self Help
Revisado: 02-19-20
Amazing piece. The author reads himself = very inspiring. It has reading flaws here & there, but that makes it so personal & intimate. The first 4-5 chapters are a bit slow, but then the avalanche of wisdom and inter-connectedness breaks over the reader/listener. Many of my friends read or listened to this book and agreed on its value. A true jewel of self-realization. Bravo!
