Jack Gantos does an amazing job showing the thoughts of Joey pigza. This is quite a dark read in a good way. Very sad and emotional. Best book ever!

Historia
It's a whole new school year, and Joey Pigza is determined to leave his wired ways in the past and be the paying attention, focused, straight-A student he believes he can be. But seated next to him is Bean, a new girl who is in foster care and who happens to have many of the same attention issues Joey has. From day one, Joey can see all the parallels in their behavior, and he's worried that her hyperactive secret sauce is going to tarnish his year.

Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - what percentage of the world's population live in poverty; why the world's population is increasing; how many girls finish school - we systematically get the answers wrong. In Factfulness, professor of international health and global TED phenomenon Hans Rosling, together with his two longtime collaborators, Anna and Ola, offers a radical new explanation of why this happens.

A must read in this time of crisis
Revisado: 05-01-20
This book brought to light my distorted view of today's world. It explains how ignorance of facts, trends and quality data gives many of us an incorrect view of the world. The authors give a detailed and unbiased explanation of how our world has improved greatly in recent years and what can be done to continue to improving it. I highly recommend this book for those who have a grim outlook for the world our next generations will live in.

Historia
Like countless other parents, doctors Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Maté have had to confront their children becoming secretive and unreachable. Focused more and more on their friends, they recoiled or grew hostile around adults. Why? The problem, Neufeld suggest, lies in attachment; children are increasingly forming stronger attachments to their friends than to the adults in their lives.

An unconventional parenting book
Revisado: 04-08-17
I've listened to quite a few parenting books, and they are all essentially the same to me. This book ,however, explores a new approach to parenting, focusing on attachment not discipline or behavior modifying techniques.
Although child-parent attachment would seem to be natural and innate, today's parent lack this vital component in parenting and this book explains how to reform that attachment.
This book is a must have for your parenting literature collection. The authors did not disappoint. The book is excellently written, and the narrator interpreted in a calm and pleasant voice. I highly recommend this book to all.
