Historia
The morning after Trump was elected president, the people who ran the US Department of Energy - an agency that deals with some of the most powerful risks facing humanity - waited to welcome the incoming administration's transition team. Nobody appeared. Across the US government, the same thing happened: nothing. People don't notice when stuff goes right. That is the stuff government does. It manages everything that underpins our lives from funding free school meals, to policing rogue nuclear activity, to predicting extreme weather events.

Ignorance is Bliss, Until...
Revisado: 12-10-18
Superb in every way. The problem is that many of the people who most need to read/listen to this will probably not, for all of the reasons elucidated in this book.

Historia
A former FBI Special Agent, US Army officer, and leading cyber-security expert offers a devastating and essential look at the misinformation campaigns that have become the cutting edge of modern warfare - and how we can protect ourselves against them. Clint Watts electrified the nation when he testified regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election. In Messing with the Enemy, the counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and homeland security expert introduces us to a frightening world in which terrorists and cyber criminals don’t hack your computer, they hack your mind.

A Subtle Shift in Perspective
Revisado: 08-21-18
I have recently read dozens of books and hundreds of well-written articles on the topics Clint Watts discussed. And although I am not an expert at the level of the author or those he cites, I do have decades of experience and a historical research background in the Cold War era. But Watts’ piece shifted my understanding of the context of current events in a powerful way by demonstrating the need for individual responsibility to counter some old but re-emerging destructive beliefs and behaviors threatening our country and the world. Mitigating corruption starts at home with a long look in the mirror, followed by a few small steps - not easy steps to take, but clearly elucidated in this book.
