I came upon this series from a new friend and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot and unexpected turn of events throughout the story. I was thrilled to discover there's additional books in this series. The story is full of adventure. The ongoing challenges of travel from Alaska through Canada to the lower 48, during a post apocalyptic event are well thought out and believable; especially when the reader has lived in Alaska for over 20 yrs. It's refreshing to see an author do his research, and portray his characters with a sense of knowledge to locations that actually exist. The book is masterly narrated by Miles Mieli, who as always is stellar in his audio performance. If your contemplating buying this book, don't second guess the purchase. Each book will keep you captivated and wanting more. Mellissa Allex

Absolutely stupendous writing & Narration

You will be drawn in and captivated by his witty, humorous writing and spot on narration, of Miles Meili. Together these books rock!
Jack Hunt creates excellent storylines with characters that you can easily envision in your mind. His stories are sooo enjoyable and as I said before I cringe when I'm down the last 45 minutes of my audio book...it's bittersweet...
Jack Hunt, in my opinion, is one of the best writers out there. His choice in Miles Meili narrating the High Peaks series, was an excellent move, Miles is sooo wonderful. His voice and personality bring each of Jacks characters to life, especially Mckenzie, whom I love. I only do audio books and alot of Jack Hunts stories have been listened to more than once.
He's THAT good!

Jack Hunt is a genius

Probably MY favorite story of all my audio books in my library, thats SAYING alot.
I love this genre and the colorful characters from start to finish. Jack Hunt is a smart, often hilarious, authentic and deliberate writer. He knows his shit and I've learned so much from his characters about survival...so TY Jack, for that....knowledge is king.
The narration by Miles Meili only adds to the enjoyment ofchis books...Miles has an ability to relate to the characters, which will immediately draw you in, and keep you. I look at my phone each evening pickingupwhereIleftoff..., hoping I'm not down to my last 45 minutes of audio. I've listened to every book available on Audible by Jack Hunt. This story along with countless others will make you a fan too. I've listened to this series twice now. Loved it more the 2nd time, I think I missed a bit last time.
10 stars!!

Jack Hunt delivers Again!

I absolutely 💯 loved this series. Jack Hunt, is THE BEST Author, in this genre, Hands Dwn!!!! This series is a fast paced thriller with twists you dont see coming. Loved all the characters, especially the lead Detective Noah, Officer Callie and of course the colorful Detective Mckenzie. Surprising turn of events were sad and others applaud worthy. All 3 books build the characters up, so you know who they are from the start and what they're willing to do for their families, community and each other. Miles Meili, omg...HE is hands dwn one of MY favorite narrators. TY Jack Hunt for choosing him, he brings YOUR stories to LIFE! He is able to capture all the raw emotions of EACH and EVERY character...I love his voice, especially when conversations are getting heated! I ALWAYS choose Jack Hunt audio books. Together, they rule my audio book library!! Warmly,

One of the most intriguing books ever!

I absolutely loved it, the readers gave it sooo much more, and their voices and mannerisms were spot on, I had a vivid picture of ea character. The story was twisted, crazy good and I loved loved loved it. I wish Dean would write a prequal to it... that would be an amazing story. It's dark, not for everyone but I live the way good triumphs over evil in the end and how all characters had a story and place in the story, that all tied together to help Frank, even if they perished. Darkness, Fireflies... Velocity...omg...I loved that! I was startled and laughing at the same time. Dean is an Utter Genius.

Best EMP SERIES, HANDS DOWN!

This collection is so real, raw and engaging. I listened to all 3 audio books...
I loved both narrators, but let's face it, Bronson Pinchots delivery of Dale Frederick's, is sooo soooo amazingly spot on. The crazy tension, hilarious conversations between Dale, a corrupt DC manboy were so enjoyable...

One of my favorite lines...
"Will that work for you John"

This series needs to hit the BIG SCREEN...Bronson cld play Dale, it'd BE EPIC!

I also really loved Forest, Mable, Hamid , Ernie and I really really loved Machela.... MOVE IT, MOVE IT.

I've listened to this series 4 times.
I'd say I'm a HUGE FAN!

I had 6 surgeries this past yr and a half, these books kept me entertained and in good spirits. Thank You Will.

I'm Hooked. Read all books by Sue Grafton. My Favorites are T for Trespass , L is for Lawlesss and D is for Deadbeat. Mary Kay is the BEST narrator ever...brings Kinsy Millhone to life!

Ive read this about 3 times, maybe 4. Always a terrific read. The narrator is the best, she is able to capture the characters that the writer created. Excellent combination. Worth sharing.
