If you love the Holy Scriptures ...
Revisado: 05-25-20
My mother is Chilean and my father Jewish. My father took me aside when I was young and told me to study the scriptures, and my mom taught me how to pray, for both of which I will always be grateful. These two things are the stay and the staff of my life. But I have holy envy for families where the scriptures accompany mealtime conversations and are the fiber of everyday living. I recently read of one such family in The Grammar of God by Aviya Kushner, a Jewess. The book was very well written and extremely moving. I was smitten from the introduction forward and it was very difficult to put it down. I found myself frequently crying and laughing. The Audible version, despite some of the Hebrew pronunciation issues, was nothing short of marvelous. I loved the reading of the book by Kristen Potter. The book gave me much food for thought and contemplation and I will have to re-listen to it again and again and take copious notes. In addition, Aviya opened up her heart and her home for an outsider such as myself to join in the celebration of His Word. I feel as if I was one of her brothers at the dinner table for which I will forever be grateful. For those who love the Hebrew Bible, both Jew and Christian, this book will make you think and ponder and analyze, and think again. Thanks Aviya Kushner. May the Holy One of Israel bless you. The theology is outstanding
Revisado: 08-20-19
I have been listening to David Ridges’ Audible series on the Book of Mormon for several months now. I have been so impressed. I keep thinking, I need to write a review on this guy’s book. It is nothing but excellent. The theology is impeccable. It is interesting and instructive and I will have to listen to this audible title multiple times. And I love what he has to say about Isaiah. And I hope that the missing volume is also published by Audible. And I am going to have to find his e-mail and write to him and thank him. So, in Search Isaiah, where I have been contributing articles for about two years, I find a wonderful article about Brother Ridges and I find that he is not just a regular guy but a CES instructor and that helps explain my admiration for him. So anyway, David, if you read this, I love your work and find it very inspiring and a breath of fresh air. Gregorio Billikopf, author is Isaiah Testifies of Christ.

Historia
Parley P. Pratt began to work on The Key to the Science of Theology in San Francisco in August 1851, just before leaving for his mission to Chile. He continued writing it while in Chile. He finished the manuscript upon his return to Utah in 1853. The manuscript remained unpublished, however, until 1855 when Parley found a publisher in England. Parley's book represented a lifetime of thought and built on ideas first propounded in Pratt's earlier writings, especially missionary tracts stemming from his years in England. The impact of The Key to the Science of Theology was unparalleled. One Latter-day Saint diarist of the 19th century observed: "We had every encouragement to read the Church publications: The Voice of Warning; the Pearl of Great Price; and Key to Theology."

Parley P. Pratt and Michael Neeb - powerful combo
Revisado: 06-18-19
Michael Neeb is an intense narrator and we put that together with one of my favorite apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and this book, which is 4 hours long, will seem like it lasted for only 30 minutes, leaving us wanting more. I finished this book today and could not say enough good things about it. Both in terms of contents and narration. Very powerful and I hope that Legacy LDS Audiobook Foundation will continue to produce these books.
