I bought this book because I wanted to learn about Fauci but very quickly I realized that this book was more opinion on politics and COVID plus major Trump bashing than it was about Fauci's life and history. I didn't finish it, stopped after about 15 minutes of listening. What a waste of time and money.

I read the book "Boundaries" at the recommendation of a therapist over 10 years ago after a really stressful time in my life when I nearly had a nervous breakdown. It helped me realize that I did not have good boundaries and that when you let people take advantage of you, resentment and anger and a whole lot of other things can take over which interfere with healthy relationships and a healthy, happy self. Only when we have healthy boundaries with others do we live the life we want. So this book -- no surprise -- explains the need for and use of boundaries in the workplace by leaders. I'm in a charge of a large team at work and our workplace is undergoing significant re-organization which is causing a lot of unrest and fear in the ranks; this book provides excellent information and advice on managing people and situations, creating a new culture, etc. from the perspective of creating boundaries to help manage expectations while being ridiculously in charge. Favorite quote: "As a leader [with respect to culture], you either get what you allow or you get what you create." I really liked the book, plan to recommend it as a group read to our leadership team. Dr. Cloud is a great narrator too.

This book builds off all of Brene's previous titles and her infamous TedTalk about courage, vulnerability and shame. She brings those themes to the workplace, specifically from a leader's perspective in working with a team. I did the audio version of the book the first time and then had to order the print copy so I can read it again and highlight all the good stuff I want to put into action at work. Every manager/supervisor/leader should read this book!

I really liked this book -- found it after getting a promotion at work that left me feeling less-than-confident in myself and worried about other people's opinions. I was drowning in negative self-talk and self-doubt, though my colleagues and superiors thought I was doing great. I listened to this book once, then a second time and it really helped. (Narrator's voice is not at all hard to listen to - sometimes I can't do an audio book if the narrator's voice is too monotone or annoying). I was able to shut off (most of!) the self-doubt and move forward with a more confident outlook and mindset.
