I was unable to stop listening to it till 5am. Although having an element of fantasy, the book is very realistic, dynamic, with characters easy to root for, and a captivating story. The book has such an easy flow, and the language is simply beautiful.

As a professional educator, I would say that this book denies all the modern approaches to teaching languages. For example, would you like to learn any language by learning during your first lesson how to ask a woman how much she weighs?
Literally ridiculous. Who starts teaching by introducing interrogative pronouns without even offering conjugation of the verb to be? I know 4 languages, and if I started learning any of them in such a way, I would have never reached even basic level. The female and the male voice pronounce consonants in a different way, and it is not Spanish versus Latin American Spanish.

I wish it were a bit shorter and had less plot lines. Edoardo Ballerini is,as always,at his best with a great performance.

The worst book I've ever listened to. Sounds like the first literary attempt of an unprofessional writer. Simply ridiculous.

At times, a little bit predictable, but overall is quite engaging. Excellent narrator. I will add him to the list of my favorite.

Boring

What disappointed you about Cloud Atlas?

I wonder how other readers gave higher ratings to Could Atlas than to Umberto Eco's opera. I've attempted three times to read Cloud Atlas, and eventually gave up. Another word that should be added to "boring" is "pathetic".It seems that the first person writings have outlived themselves.
