I enjoyed it
Revisado: 12-27-22
Second Dekker book I’ve listened to. First kids series. I enjoyed it. Story story was thought out. Creative. The Biblical worldview was solid. Presented the Gospel well. I believe this is an excellent book for preteens and middle schoolers that need a fiction series to read. Very strong emphasis on what it means to live like Jesus, love, and forgive. Excellent demonstration on how to overcome our enemy Satan in every day life. Solid emphasis on our value in Gods eyes and seeing ourselves as he sees us. Looking forward to another series by Dekker.
The performance was ok. Authors voice is nice, but she read it with a stressed out emphasis the entire time. Like every sentence ended with the same word emphasis… hard for me to explain. Took a bit to get used to. But still enjoyed the audio version

Happily pleased
Revisado: 11-23-22
This is the first Ted Dekker book I’ve read/listened to and I’m happily pleased by it. I should say I’m pretty easily entertained. Not a book connoisseur and critic by any means. I enjoyed the story. At first I felt like it was two stories because of how he set up the plot but he weaved it together. I really liked his characters and their development. There may have been some over dramatic spots, but I didn’t mind it. As a Christian I was wondering how he’d we’ve the message of Jesus into it and I was pleased with that also. Wasn’t tacky or cheesy. Actually, I really liked it because he made the story feel like a sci-fi fantasy somewhat and then brought in the spiritual aspect of reality and it fit very well.
I also loved Kat Stroot as the narrator. I like her voice and she acts out the emotions well.
Overall I give it all a 5 stars. Hope you enjoy the book.
