A strong male protagonist without the annoying flock of girls
Revisado: 11-28-24
A fun isekia that is oddly more realistic as the mc focuses on how to make his own life better for retirement, the other characters around him are in awe of his clever plans without having every girl of every moe suddenly appearing and throwing themselves on him.

Literally forgot who the mc was for a moment there
Revisado: 09-05-24
The mc is a boy named Will. The author stayed in other characters pov for so long and so often that when the random girl (literally a sister to random hitchman number 3) that when she found a boy beatened and chained in a boat and he told her his name was Will I was like…. Will that sounds familiar? Oh yeah he is the mc…. Then it remains in her pov for the entire time that they are fighting for their lives. Finally going back to the mc…. After a moment of being in with the main baddy’s new bride pov as she is being shown around her new house, but only for a moment as he is finally being introduced to the people he was supposed to get in contact with…. Then back to the random sister as she is now running away from the good people with tons of information you know she is gonna spill to the bad people cause clearly her brother wouldn’t work for a man trying to end the world as they know it…. At that point I had enough. Switching povs is fine but when you stay in the povs of so many others then the actual main character it just gets annoying.

Deep story ruined by reader
Revisado: 08-11-24
The author clearly wanted to a deeper story that was so much more then just sex and werewolves I appreciate that. But, then the reader…. His words were clear and easy to understand but there was no infliction on the voices it was like a first reading throughout, example: MC has a minor character pinned to the ground with a weapon slowly forcing its way through minor character’s flesh while he demands for answers. The minor character literally sounds happy and teasing at first while he is pinned like a dandy from a Victorian romance novel teasing someone during a stole in the park… only for it to mildly gain some weight to the voice when blood starts to pool from the wound. Most of it’s read with the enthusiasm of a reader forced to do a bullet by bullet instruction manual to simply jolly and teasing with everyone except the MC as the MC has only one bland tone of boredom and clearing doesn’t want to be there even when sex is on the table.

The reader literally skipped 20 pages
Revisado: 07-22-24
I have the hard copy of the novel in hand and decided to get the audiobook as well so I could continue to listen to the novel while cleaning and cooking. Only for the reader to literally skip 20 pages of a single chapter from a text break till the next chapter was completely taken out. I’m rather upset that this has been recorded and released as a complete novel when in fact it’s not.

Historia
A certain college girl who's loved books ever since she was a little girl dies in an accident and is reborn in another world she knows nothing about. She is now Myne, the sickly five-year-old daughter of a poor soldier. To make things worse, the world she's been reborn in has a very low literacy rate and books mostly don't exist. She'd have to pay an enormous amount of money to buy one.

Loved it
Revisado: 05-29-23
I normally don’t listen to long novels due to how the pacing can be slow. But the pacing was perfect with their romance and the drama of the evil plot that set them to both clash and come together as one. The culture that the author made is incredible and put on display naturally without long drawn out explanations or winded history lessons. Though it is incredibly lbgta friendly it doesn’t set itself in opposition with more conservative views as many lbgta literature seems prone to do. It is again displayed naturally without needing to point out how right they are compared how wrong others are. In all I loved the world the author created and hope for more later within this place they had created.

Fun but not great
Revisado: 05-07-23
It’s a fun listen but not to well thought out. The MC is quickly swayed from one side to another. From wanting to expose them all to understanding they need to remain secret in about half of a conversation. He instantly hates one of the side characters for no reason what so ever like the author forgot that although the MC’s boyfriend may hate him cause they know each other from having a working relationship but the MC just meet him and even agreed to the attempted mind wipe, but ever since the failed attempt he needles the guy and shames him for his need to use pheromones. For someone that claims to cast no shade he certainly did a lot of that to someone that had currently did nothing to him but what they agreed too.

He doesn't require grimoires and incantations to cast spells. Alec's magic is entirely natural. He can, somehow, absorb the elements from objects and manipulate them according to his will. This power is incredible, but difficult to master. If he's going to learn how to use his natural magic, it'll take the tutelage of Archmage Diamondspear, one of the most adept magic users in the kingdom.

hmm...
Revisado: 09-03-22
I listened to a good portion of the book till it got to the creepy teacher, and I have to say as a woman listening to this novel that teacher just made me feel so gross. the way he treated the female student was straight up sexual harassment but the other men in the room laughed off his behavior like it was some kind of joke, regardless of the female student having been rightly offended by his behavior and comments about her beauty and how he would love to be her professor. It became even more disgusting when it become known in the same conversation that he treats all the female staff at the manor in the same way, and yet his behavior is still treated like a funny little joke.

not upset just disappointed
Revisado: 04-22-22
I couldn't finish the novel. The characters are so one detentions that you don't realize Nigel is transmale till a little more then halfway through. Something that one would assume would affect his life much more then just a mention of a trans t-shirt his mother gave him when he came out. From fears of being inadequate towards affections from the man he has a crush on to general relief that the group he hangs out with is obviously lbgta friendly, none of those thoughts or emotions are explored. The beginning before I found out that the MC was trans. I felt the novel read like one of her previous novels named 'Restless Spirits' in which about scientist is trying to prove and exercise ghosts with sceince... and a reluctant medium that helps him survive the haughting. Restless spirits is a historical romance while this one is modern. That's really the only difference. oh and the characters are much more flushed out in Restless spirits. This story just feels empty or rushed. It could easily be twice it's length if she would have taken the time to develop the characters more and the horror of the house.

A fun read
Revisado: 11-21-21
The first few chapters almost made me put it down, but then as if the writer had put the novel down for a few years before picking it back up again. The writing suddenly becomes a lot better the conversations become cute and endearing. Philippa's discovery of her own sexuality is believable and sweet. I enjoyed the pair as a delightful couple and hope the author decides to write more lbgta friendly novels, because despite common belief the lbgta community existed long before our modern understanding of the community.
