The synopsis did not do this book any justice. This book was so good. It caught me at a very surprise. Just be aware there are a lot of kinky scenes. I will definitely be listening to this book again.

Both book one and two. Absolutely perfect. Book 2 had me all in my emotions. I did cry. The narrators are perfect. Such passion and emotion. These books deserve more than 10 stars.

Now i have to wait for book 3 😫😩
As soon as the preorder drops; I’m will break my phone to press order.

The Best Memoir Ever! Please Please listen to this Book!

I have no words, but I do have words. This book was raw, emotional, traumatic, a learning experience, an eye-opener, it makes you believe in yourself. I am one of those dark skinned black girls. I’m not a supermodel, I doubt myself constantly, I don’t look in the mirror and tell myself “ I am beautiful”, I don’t believe in myself. I self doubt my looks, body and all the above constantly; thinking, I can’t do this, you are not worth it, is my best friend. Just like Viola, I have severe social anxiety, depression. I did not suffer nowhere or anywhere near, like Viola did growing up, but this book it did make me look at my life different. I need to believe in myself more. I need to tell myself that I am beautiful and not every woman is supposed to look like a supermodel Being beautiful on the outside does not count nearly as much as being beautiful on the inside. If I can give this book and infinity amount of stars I would. I saw everything like a movie in my head while Viola was reading her life to us. Chapter 16!This chapter made me bawl my eyes out. I cried so hard, i gave myself bloodshot eyes, runny nose and a headache. It bought back memories of two very special people in my life that help me grow up; my great grandfather and my auntie. I still have both of my parents, thank you Jesus. Knowing one day, nowhere in this near future i pray, it will be their time to go, it scares me to death. I know that I will have to stay strong.

This book makes you look at yourself different. Every woman of color should read this book. Everyone no matter what color you are Mr. read. Viola tells her story and makes us feel that we were next to her the entire time. And looking into her life without actually physically being there.


The performance, the story, the overall telling and listening of this book, I am giving an infinity amount of stars.
I will listen to anything this woman reads. Whether it’s another book, the back of a cereal box, a children’s story. Her voice is perfect the entire time. Showing emotion making us feel what she felt, seeing everything through her eyes.

I will also be buying a hard copy of this book to add to my library!

Rose always delivers with her books. I love the storyline. I love everything about this book, except for one tiny little thing. The female narrator was a little bit too much, I understand that the character is all happy and cheery but I’m pretty sure it could’ve been more of mature happy and cheery. It got a little annoying at times with the character/narrator. This book made me cry, with happy tears of course too bad audible doesn’t give us more of Shane Rose’s books.

Ok so far the books series is freaking awesome. The narrator does a great job showing emotions and feelings. The only complaint is that; Raven asks too many damn questions. She was to know everything and why. So annoying!!!!!

OMG. Just like the first book, you want to listen to the whole book in one day. This book is just as perfect as book one of the series. I’m sad that i have finish it already. 😩 now i have to want, god no telling how long, for books 3 and 4. Writer perfect 10. Narrator perfect 10. I could see every single moment of this book in my head. I will be rereading the entire series once it has been fully be completed.

Scratch My Eyeballs out!!

Ok. I just wanted to scratch my eyeballs out with Emily. Always questioning everything she did or what Reve did. Like EVERYTHING, not a single thought of her own. Putting her best friends feelings before her. That being said I could not stop listening to the book. The scenes were hot, which made up for Emily's constantly inner questioning. The performance of the reader was good. The story was good, minus Emily constant pity party. Overall it's a ok book. Would I listen to it again. Yes, but not anytime soon
