This book wishes it was Beware of Chicken and misses the mark

I listened to this and am most of the way through the second and the entire time I felt like this is just a cheap knock off of Beware of Chicken. Even with a knock off there are some aspects I enjoyed but many where I felt let down.
The break throughs are him just expressing his feelings.
He CONSTANTLY needs to express his feelings then says he has been hiding from his feelings repeatedly.
The world feels hollow there is a city named tropica and then the capital of the country and we know almost nothing else.
The second book loses most of its charm, I think it’s mostly the romance. It feels like two teenagers when the main couple is a 30 something man and a 27 year old woman. And they both act like children, then after randomly confessing love to each other a month later they are discussing whether to have children????🤯
The main character wants to be a funny guy or do his bits that rarely work.

I really enjoyed the stuff with the city lord, the crab cult leader is fun. The animals are fun, even the names, the Church for Mc is fun most of the time when Mc isn’t constantly repeating he doesn’t want to be involved all the time. The fishing stuff is cool but there’s wayyyy less of that than expected and it just turns into farming simulator or cultivator animal farm simulator.

Lastly, Heath Miller is a great voice actor, I just don’t love him for this role if I’m honest. He is just a downer voice for me at this point, as much as I have enjoyed He Who Fights With Monsters Jason Asano is a grumpy dude and has permanently set this voice in my mind for someone that is dour, even when the Mc is supposed to be super cheerful

Another Quality Book from Macronomicon

I have found that I really enjoy this author's works and this one is no different. They always make the main character's abilities feel special and powerful but so is everyone so it isn't broken its just fun and engaging.

Good Filler?

I guess you could say a lot of this book is filler but it’s entertaining. Pavi’s narration as always is great.

Funny, lighthearted and entertaining

This book is very funny, I really enjoy the back and forth between Morgan and T. The story feels new and they don't make you wait to get into it, the author doesn't waste your time and its right into the laughs. Travis Baldree is of course my favorite narrator and can do no wrong.

Amazing Introduction

Standard litrpg system book

The story is a very standard, generic litrpg system book no unique gimmick, nothing to set it apart other than great narrating.

A great trilogy wrapped up horribly

90% if this book is good the problem is the last ten percent is when they shove in the ending and it just suddenly ends. No blaze of glory, no heartfelt interactions, this world we’ve grown to love disappears, with a joke about it raining tomorrow and a ton of unanswered questions.
