So so good! Best listen in a long while!!! Gives you such a better insight into Haymitch and where he was in the first Hunger Games series.

Historia
Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

Historia
One Omaha winter day in November 1978, when Debora Harding was just 14, she was abducted at knifepoint from a church parking lot. She was thrown into a van, assaulted, held for ransom and then left to die as an ice storm descended over the city. Debora survived. She identified her attacker to the police and then returned to her teenage life in a dysfunctional home where she was expected to simply move on. Denial became the family coping strategy offered by her fun-loving, conflicted father and her cruelly resentful mother.

Stilted and hard to follow
Revisado: 02-24-21
The first half of this book was so confusing and difficult to understand. The authors performance was stilted and, frankly, annoying to listen to. I actually kind of liked the last 4 1/2 hours or so... once it stopped jumping all over the place. Maybe if it were only 2 timelines and not several.

Historia
Ida B. Wells committed herself to the needs of those who did not have power. In the eyes of the FBI, this made her a “dangerous negro agitator”. In the annals of history, it makes her an icon. Ida B. the Queen tells the awe-inspiring story of a pioneering woman who was often overlooked and underestimated - a woman who refused to exit a train car meant for White passengers; a woman brought to light the horrors of lynching in America; a woman who cofounded the NAACP.

Kind of boring
Revisado: 02-17-21
I was looking for more of a story format, rather than a list or timeline. It jumped all over rather than following the story of her life, which I was hoping for. I wish the legacy and accomplishments part was just at the end.

What’s in a label? Are we the product of our upbringing or do we have a natural propensity towards good or evil? The eternal question of nature vs nurture is at the centre of Dr Diane Buckley’s world. A talented freelance forensic psychologist who has never quite found the key to engaging with people on a casual level, she is drafted in to examine a grisly murder – a body found in a children’s playground.

Terrible
Revisado: 02-05-19
So confusing, as it’s like just listening to a movie... not a book. No descriptions of who’s talking, what they look like, what’s going on... impossible to paint a mental picture. Awful music blaring between chapters.
So bad.
