Historia
After facing war, death, unruly gods, and unmitigated evil, Minalan the Spellmonger is forced to return to Farise, the site of his earliest battles, with the simple assignment to conquer the subtropical city-state and expel the pirates that plague the kingdom’s shipping. Tired of warfare, Minalan embarks on a clandestine campaign to do so, assuming an alias and setting up shop in Farise as a mere Practical Adept as cover for his operation. Recruiting a cadre of talented agents to assist, he reluctantly begins the task of infiltrating and observing Farisian society.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Historia
This novel comes at precisely the right moment as we figure out what 2020 means for the future. The Antifan Girlfriend shows you what will happen after the left has used the pandemic to destroy freedom: Political polarization erupts into civil war, the Green New Deal is used by elites to grab stuff for themselves, pagan Earth Mother religion replaces Judeo-Christian traditions, and the US surrenders its status as a world power.

This book brings the differences and similarities to socialism and capitalisms to the forefront Polarizing the country. Which is happening in our society now and expands how this polarization could go oh so wrong. There was no comprise in the book. You were on one side or the other. It also showed the fallacies within a socialistic society, that all would be ok, and all would be cared for. This did not occur there was discrimination, sexism, and brutalization of the people. The very things they wanted to prevent. If you look at the events that occurred in 2020 a coup attempt by a sitting President and the riots of January 6th. Could lead the country down a dangerous path. If we do not learn to respect each other and learn to comprise this book could be the future of our country. Remember united we stand divided we fall.

Holy Mother of God! SASSENACH.
Revisado: 12-18-21
I received the book on November the 23rd and have listened to it twice. What a book! The story pulls together thread lines from previous books and then creates new ones. The TV series does no justice to the books. It's like you get a thimble of whiskey as opposed to the whole barrel. The details this in book explains why it took so long to complete. Davina Porter is most excellent. There are no disappointing moments in this book. I would advocate listening to it at least twice as the second time through I caught small things I missed in the first reading/listen. I will listen to it a third time. I have listened to all of the books at least twice and not since I read the first book and fell in love with the story have, I been so thoroughly enchanted.

Historia
After winning two wars against the Nemovorti, Minalan plans an expedition to The Lost Valley of Anghysbel, in the far north of his realm. It's there, in the caldera of a supervolcano at the edge of the tundra, he suspects many of the answers he so desperately needs might be hidden. The only problem is that thanks to the anti-magical properties of the jevolar, his spells won’t work; he’ll be without magic for the first time since he came into his Talent.

Jay Harper to the Rescue!
Revisado: 08-09-15
I have anticipated this book with wonder as to how Mr. Steele would conclude this trilogy. I devoured this book. Now I am going to have to reread it again to catch the nuances I might have missed in my haste. Don't read this book first. Read The Watchers, then Angel City before this book. This trilogy is an excellent read. The author brings the players in this book to life with such realism you believe you can feel their pain, joy and happiness. I wish Mr. Steele would continue the series. I will miss reading about the adventures of Mark, Jay, and Kat.

Historia
Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

WOW what a Great start for an authors first book!!
Revisado: 01-20-15
A little bit of fantasy, tales from the past and history all rolled into a great read. The author incorporates the daily lives of the citizens of New York around the turn of the century that goes back to the deserts of the middle east and superstitions of eastern Europe. The characters are well developed and the story is told so the they interact and lead you to a surprising end. Can't wait for her next book. George Guidall narrates and does so superbly.
Have fun with this read and enjoy.

We all have our crosses to bear and to find our way out of the struggles of daily life to reach for ourselves. So I found listening to his journey more of the same I have heard from others of his persuasion. I am happy for you and yourself discovery and awareness but what I expected to hear about in this book was Enoch not another story of how you arrived at your enlightened condition.
