Predictable plot. Comically evil character. The only thing missing was maniacal laughter while twirling an old timey mustache.

Story was cute enough but the narration

I gritted my teeth through the narration for a few of the male characters but especially Oliver. The stilted affected cadence they used made an attractive passionate love interest sound old, stodgy and unsexy. I wish they’d used the voice for the older brother character for Oliver instead. That voiced seemed a bit younger and lively.

Needed a different narrator

I was excited to hear the audible version of this after reading the book, but I feel like Karen Chilton’s voice & tone didn’t change enough between different characters or from her natural accent to be distinctive and the attempt at Scottish accents sounded almost Caribbean at points. It was kind of disappointing.
