Historia
It was a summer of love and a summer of secrets. She has built a good life: a husband who adores her, a daughter she is fiercely proud of, a home with warmth and love at its heart. But things were not always so good, and the truth is that she has done things she can never admit.

This was the most absurd disappointing story
Revisado: 10-09-23
The main female character was so weak and naïve as an adult with no backbone no strength, cried all the time had everything stolen never grew up, was horrible with her husband was taken in by an ex who is she ridiculously let into her life when she had a fabulous life with her present husband, who adored her, was good to her. She had no character no self-esteem, and I have a lot of trouble with women like this, because there is no reason to be taken through a whole lifetime without any silver lining. She put herself into terrible situations made horrible decisions it was a book badly written. The plot was a total disaster. The narrator was fine, but had nothing to work with, and I’m surprised the narrator excepted this piece of work. I suggest you not waste a credit.

Intelligently written, intriguing and interesting characters and stories
Revisado: 02-14-23
Is fantastic imaginative author does not drive me mad by repeating the same material over and over to Lincoln the book. It is a story forever changing and maintaining the readers interest. Interest. Gathers as the reader hold their breath, while attempting to imagine, the outcome of the final curtain. Period yeah, imagination creating these characters and astounding performance rooting the reader to their seat. From beginning to end. A big thank you to the author. I will indulge in more of your intriguing imagination.

Remarkable story narrators and characters
Revisado: 07-02-22
Follow intellect, courage, main character wise beyond his years, intuitive and a fantastic student of his wise older teacher, enable an admiral respected by all. The story is fantastic and I respect the need of this team to break the red tape and get the job done. This needs to be part of our system. Thank you audible as it is free with membership. I will read the entire series.

This story was so segmented impossible to follow. Emotional ruin should be the title. Made no sense and dragged from the beginning. Could only get through two chapters without being able to make any sense out of the several stories combined. Can’t imagine she would produce and publish this garbage.

Narrator sounded like she was about to fall asleep
Revisado: 05-02-22
She sounded like she was dragging her self around looking for coffee to wake her up enough to narrate this story. That would be Alice the mother not the other characters but she was the main feature. The story needed to be edited, shortened too much detail about elephants so your mind wandered and sometimes you fast forward Through extensive details of elephants. I believe in educating everyone as to poaching, exposing the horrors of how it affects these victims such as elephants dolphins whales because of the crass, selfish, misinformed myth of parts of animals that allows men to have a better sex life with no concern of leaving the animal without fins to swim and taking the tasks of elephants to make into powder. The Chinese are supposed to follow the law and not allow tusks to be taken from the elephant by killing them; the matriarch, the father and sending the little babies to be locked up in circuses . He’s intelligent creatures are killed for their TUSKS. It is law the elephants are protected and the Taiwanese and Africans who kill them and leave the carcasses to rot is illegal but the Taiwanese and Africans find a way to kill these beautiful loving intelligent animals for money. When caught by the Rangers, they are severely punished if that does not stop them and they are responsible for killing 13,000 elephants last year. The elephants will soon be extinct at this rate . Poachers who continue to breed Creating too many children and He made by law to take birth control pills and stop pushing out babies for more mouths to feed. It’s a horrible atrocity to kill animals for trophies, sexual gratification and all other reasons created by Asians. The dedicated elephant caretakers and deputies attempt to protect the Intelligent elephants from these terrible poachers that managed to kill 13,000 last year because there is not enough accountability by the Lawmakers, a typical problem that the government never seems to be able to fix. There is not a severe enough punishment for these poachers who should be shot so others learn the feeling of having their families torn apart by this nightmare. This is murder and they should be sent to the electric chair no fooling around because they will Otherwisego out and do the same thing over and overSo this is a very sad and true accounting that Jody Picoult with her acquired research and distinct poetic writing tells us the reality of this atrocity in story form and Creates a unique, creative story, bringing in a detective and a psychic. It upsets me that the main character is oblivious to her husband‘s mental state not seeing how it causes casualties all around him because She chooses to remain blindsided to the obvious.. She is too naïve, Which is very detrimental to her daughter. This is upsetting. But then we know of mothers who put themselves first before their children and neglect the danger they cost to their children. My hope is that this book will promote donations to elephant sanctuarys so that elephants may not disappear, Become extinct as Jody predicts due to these nasty poachers Who are hired by Asians without a heart to slaughter families of obvious tight family ties within the elephant matriarchal extremely intelligent societies How would poachers and Asians feel if someone shot the head of their family And mother of their children, leaving their osn children to fend for themselves being turned over to child services and living in poverty the rest of their lives? That’s the end result of their killing elephants.. I love Jody Pacult writing and read all of her books and she is one amazing author connecting our hearts with hers through her vivid characterizations. She has committed herself to so many awareness projects raising our awareness and compassion for those animals Who become the victims of heartless humans. Thank you with all my heart Jodi. You are amazing and one of the best authors of our time.

If you like main character being a single Extremely naïve woman, extremely naïve
Revisado: 01-04-22
Definitely not my cup of tea As I do not appreciate main characters being blind to reality, like a child not seeing what’s in front of her, so naïve is the main character shocked by the unveiled truth throughout the entire book till the end when she finally realizes her weakness in taking people at face value. The narrator‘s nervousness depicting this character was enough to put me off not wanting to Continue listening. The twists were interesting but drowned out by this Ignorant, irritating single woman With no back bone, totally absorbed in her son, her life.

The worst of Harlan Coben.
Revisado: 11-17-21
J. Marosz, The narrator, sounds like an android with out emotion, like someone is reading a newspaper article to someone who’s dead. The plot goes nowhere slowly. Imagine the same Halloween theme of a young teenage girl walking into a haunted house knowing danger is ahead Yeah walking ahead anyway like brain dead.Well this is the main character pulling ridiculous stunts that no one with any smarts would do. Boring boring boring don’t waste your time. I could not even get to the nowhere plot and characters where too painful.I do not write reviews but I had to send out a warning warning for those Harlan fans as I was, not to waste their time on this audio book Even if it is free to members. Some wanna be author must have written this and assigned Mr. Coben’s name as the author without Mr. Coben’s knowledge . Harlan Coban is a brilliant writer, A favorite I have suggested over and over again two friends and family, lovers of unique, creative, surprising plots and I have read many books by him but this one is an embarrassment to his talent. I will definitely pay attention to ALL reviews before reading another of his novels.
