Historia
Part of Ivan Doig’s acclaimed Montana trilogy, English Creek revolves around Jick McCaskill, a 14-year-old growing up in 1930s Montana. This incandescent coming-of-age tale dramatizes the climatic events of one summer that inevitably mark Jick’s awakening from childhood to adulthood.

Great story, but....
Revisado: 03-02-23
Great characterization, real life, wonderful description of the land. But Doig should have stopped after the fire and school about to begin. The tacked on summary of the next twenty years was a big letdown for me, like a deflated balloon. I just wasn't ready for all that.

Historia
Life-Study of Genesis presents the book of Genesis in a completely new light. Strictly speaking, Genesis is neither a book of creation nor a book of biographies. It is a book of life. God uses the record of creation to show the matter of life. God uses the biographies of eight persons to show how he needs a life to fulfill his purpose.

Genesis as you have never known it
Revisado: 08-03-20
If you are a serious student of the Bible, interested in seeing what was on God's heart when He gave us this wonderful Book, this audiobook is for you. If you have considered Genesis simply as an interesting account of creation, the fall of man, and the early history of Israel's founding fathers, you will be surprised to see how very relevant this portion of the word of God is for the church today and for our individual Christian walk. "....the book of Genesis contains the seeds of nearly all of the truths in the Scriptures."

Historia
The New Year brings challenges and changes to the colorful Irish village of Ballybucklebo. The Christmas holidays have barely passed before a fire engulfs the humble thatched cottage housing of Donal Donnally and his family. Although the family escapes the blaze more or less unsinged, Donal, his wife, their three small children, and their beloved dog find themselves with nothing left but the clothes on their back.

Flat
Revisado: 11-16-18
Does not compare with the earlier novels. The characters are flat, very much lacking their earlier color and personality. And too much on the emotional stress of desired pregnancy.

Historia
Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Is this really John Grisham?
Revisado: 08-19-18
I have been a John Grisham fan for a long time. I find his books entertaining, and usually really enjoy his characters, most of whom are colorful, a blend of humor and pathos. This book, however, is FLAT. It reads like journal, or a report. The characters have no depth. The plot was good, but the characterization blah. Are you sure this is not the work of a ghost writer?
