Predictable story spoiled by poor narration

Very off putting on the narration, narrator sounded like someone in their late 50s to 60s, much too
old for this character. Not skilled at tone inflections for multiple characters, and often stumbled over the lines. Story was predictable for this genre, the constant references to the protagonist always needing a sweet treat quickly becomes tiresome. Beginning to see a definite storyline pattern in this series, especially with the unimaginative and cliched characters, this includes the lazy naming of the majority of character names starting with the same letter for first and last name.

Really enjoyed the second installment of this delightful series. Writing is superb, you easily feel enmeshed in the lives of the Sibleys, laughing along with the mishaps and feeling their angst, cheering Eric and Susie on to make it all work out in the end. I won't provide spoilers but be aware this is a SERIES of books so things are not neatly tied up at the end. Looking forward to the next installment. And I must add, the narration is excellent, too often a narrator is not skilled in switching between characters and setting the tone of the writing but this narration was done in a very engaging and professional style.

Not engaging - redundant and hackneyed dialogue, storylines drag on

Stilted, hackneyed dialogue, repetitive and cliched elements among the stories, does not engage the reader and storylines tend to drag on as filler. After listening to several of the books in the series I could not continue, the Audible version makes the defects in this set glaring. Narration was very off putting and amateurish, repeated use of he said/she said was maddening.
