Historia
Across the country women are being murdered by a killer who leaves no evidence, no fatal wounds, no signs of struggle, and no clues to a motive. They are, truly, perfect crimes. In fact, the only thing that links the victims is the man they all knew: Jack Reacher.

Pretty good
Revisado: 03-07-24
Narration was not quite my favorite, but the story was good. I’m enjoying the Reacher series overall. I’m not sure how I feel about having figured out the villain so early on, but it was vindicating to have been right.

No more AI
Revisado: 02-08-24
The story was OK, but I really did not enjoy the AI text-to-speech robot reading it to me. I hope this is not a new thing with Audible. Real voice actors only please.

I thought when the high tech stuff came in, it might evolve like Daemon by Daniel Suarez. It evolve in a very unique way that only Jack Carr can come up with. Loved it!

Interesting but not fantastic
Revisado: 12-27-20
I was very surprised when the book ended. The prison battle seems like act one and then the story just trailed off and ended. Interesting characters though.

Quirky but fascinating and enjoyable
Revisado: 04-29-18
Overall I really liked the book. I’m dying to understand what was fiction and what might be real. The performance was a bit odd at times, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the storyline jumping about, that’s why the four stars rather than five. I’ll recommend this to friends!

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Very good, but a horrible anti-climactic ending
Revisado: 10-29-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I enjoyed the book very much. The character development was sometimes wordy but was entertaining, and the premise was interesting enough.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
What ending? I was getting really bored with the shenanigans leading up to the ending, and suddenly the book was over. What ending? WORST ENDING EVER!
What does Raul Esparza bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great voice, I kept thinking it was Wil Wheaton.
Was Under the Dome worth the listening time?
In the end, no. If the ending would have been worthwhile, I would say 'most certainly' but the ending absolutely ruined it for me.
Any additional comments?
If anyone ever re-writes the last chapter, I can highly recommend trying that version of the book.

very good, with minor flaws
Revisado: 08-07-13
What did you love best about Night Fall?
The story brings some history back to life and is told well, with a couple of flaws.
Would you be willing to try another book from Nelson DeMille? Why or why not?
I'm going through the whole John Corey series, so yes :)
Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
yes, typically excellent.
Any additional comments?
I didn't much care for the odd anti-climactic time jump about Yemen and the ending.
