Historia
For centuries, the extremely powerful and ruthless vampire witches of the European Council have wandered the Earth, controlling governments, fostering war, creating political conflict, and often leaving absolute destruction in their wake. One of the strongest of them is set to create some havoc in the city of New Orleans, and it's definitely personal.

2 hours to long.
Revisado: 02-11-16
The author spends to much time reiterating human deaths etc. Yes, 52 humans died. Yes, Pinky is dead. Get over it and move on. Stop beating a dead horse. It gets old fast.

Historia
The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

Ever read a book 50 pages too long!!
Revisado: 05-05-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Ever After to be better than the print version?
I have never read the print version
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Most - Biz finally getting some print time. Least - Nick, just kill the guy and put us all out of our misery
What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Marguerite has the ability to play so many different characters. It is what keeps this overly long book interesting
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Siri died.
Any additional comments?
We could save a couple hours of listening by just reducing the number of times Rachel says "I'm Sorry" and "Thank you" Most dramatic reflections (such as "do I trust Trent") are overdone. They are longer than they need to be. Even after that I will continue to listen. I like the characters. Hopefully Kim will not screw things up by significantly changing the three primary characters current living and work storyline.

Slow and Mundane
Revisado: 10-18-12
What disappointed you about Cop Killer?
It it so slow to develop. I finally quit after about 2 hours. I really tried to persevere and listen to the book. It is just plain boring.
What do you think your next listen will be?
James R Benn - Billie Boyle series: Evil for Evil
How could the performance have been better?
Someone who could actually speak with something other than a monotone voice. It was like listening to a chemistry lecture in college.

Historia
Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle.

Silly but really fun
Revisado: 08-07-12
Where does Timeless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 1/4
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lady Maccon. She was the main character that kept everything together and moving.
What does Emily Gray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The voices! She has an amazing ability to give each character their own voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Lord Maccon fell out of the balloon after being shot.
Any additional comments?
By the 5th book Carriger has really developed the characters into distinct people. I hope she comes up with another idea for these or other characters from The Parasol Protectorate. It felt like the ending was rushed though.

Historia
Jane Whitefield is a Native American guide who leads solitary outcasts through hostile territory to escape the vengeance of their enemies. But the shaded forest paths her Seneca ancestors might have followed on such missions have all been converted to superhighways, and now the safest way stations are crowded urban buildings that offer the camouflage of anonymity. Still, the supply of runaways - and the need for a woman who will take great risks to save them - have never been greater.

Boring and Predictable
Revisado: 08-07-12
What disappointed you about Vanishing Act?
It was so slow moving at the start. I fell asleep while listening, missed a chapter and 1/2 and woke up and feeling like I did not miss anything at all. It was so predictable I felt like shaking the main character and asking her how she can be so dim.
Has Vanishing Act turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, just this author.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Limited character voices. Try not to make everyone sound the same
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It finally ended.

Historia
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....
