It's a Cliffhanger

The book, ie: the storyline is well written. It's easy to listen to and definitely holds your attention. I must not have read the reviews before taking this one because it ends in a Cliffhanger! There is nothing I detest more than a book that ends in a cliffhanger. It just seems to me that the author could find a way to conclude the current plot point and then the next book could start with the next plot point in line.

So, my recommendation is if you don't mind cliffhangers, then you need to read or listen to this one.

This was a simple story of Nazi's, cats, and shape shifters. Well written, it will test your reality and belief in history as it was written. Still in all, it was a worthwhile read.

A Slow Start But a Good Ending

I wasn't sure what I was in for when I started this book (audio). Maybe something like The Dead Files, I'm not sure. I thought Kimberly Wantland was slightly pretentious, a bit of a snob. But that may have been the narrator. She read Kimberly's part with a highly enunciated pronunciation and it gave the feeling of the prim, proper librarian shushing everyone. However, I thought she did a good job with Rosie. The character Sterling was throughout an ass. He is one of the most unlikeable characters I've ever come across.
That all being said, the storyline was good. Some of it was predictable, including the ending. However, no spoilers here. As slow a start as it had, the ending was excellent. Definitely makes it worthwhile to want to read the next book in the series. Whether you read the book or listen to it, it's definitely a worthwhile book to add to your reading list.

Michael is an earthling and a tour guide. The aliens think he's the holy savior. And so they kidnap him. Thus begins a wild, zany, madcap adventure that will not only keep you reading but it will keep you laughing. PW Hillard is a master wordsmith and his stories are some of the most fun you could have while living vicariously through a book.
Matt Jenkins is a fantastic narrator and does a wonderful job with the characters, giving them a voice and emotions.

I highly recommend this audio book.

I listen to audio books because I can do other things, such as painting or sewing, while listening. However, I couldn't do anything while listening to this book. It took such concentration to figure out whether it was Miss A or the people in the story she was reading, who were speaking. There was no delineation between voices without total concentration on the story. The plot sounded interesting and maybe if I were reading it instead of listening, it might have been easier. Needless to say, I think it's a YA book and would be interesting to a younger audience.

As an author, Ron Ripley is prolific. Thom Bowers is an excellent narrator. Put them together and you get an audio version that is beyond good, beyond excellent. This is a wonderful way to learn the story, the history and backgrounds of the awesome characters that make up Berkley Street. I can't wait to start the next book.

Ron Ripley's books always come through. He is a master of the thriller. It's definitely worth reading or listening to this one. The narrator has the ability to differentiate between characters, so you always know exactly who's speaking. Well written and suitably scary, you can't go wrong with this book.

This is the second book of The Compendium and is just as enjoyable as Book 1, Legacy of Light. Full of adventure, suspense, and intrigue, it kept me listening long after I should have been doing other things. It tells the story of Roan who through misadventure finds herself in a situation totally out of her control. This book will appeal to readers of fantasy and adventure.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when I started listening to it. But I loved the narrator's voice and she made it easy to keep listening. I started getting a bit bored about midway through and set it aside for a while. When are came back to it, I must have been ready for it, as I finished it in a couple of hours.

The premise of the book is unique in that a private investigator whose case takes them to other planets/galaxies is definitely not the normal mystery story. It's well written with good character development and if you get the chance to read or listen, by all means go for it.

This is a sci-fi, paranormal, horror story. It’s a well-written story with an intricate plot and well developed characters. It’s a stand-alone book that keeps your attention so you don’t miss something. Matt Jenkins does an amazing job with the narration. His ability to differentiate voices between characters make him an absolute pleasure to listen to. P.W. Hillard is one of maybe two science fiction writers who have made me interested in reading sci-fi again. It’s an absorbing, intense horror ride through space.
