Great Recommendation
Revisado: 01-02-18
Started this book on a recommendation plus the television show was coming out and I don't like to watch something without reading the source material first.
Even while a few small nit-picky things here and there, I really can't say it detracted from the story at all. I really enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to reading the second one.

Good Traditional SciFi
Revisado: 01-02-18
Funny Story - I had an issue with my midwestern-er accent coming into play here and I was lost for a minute. In the second portion of the book when they were talking about "Traders" not being allowed on the planet, for a little while I thought they said "traitors" and was really confused. Of course a traitor wouldn't be allowed on the planet! I think it took a chapter or two until they were talking about the "trader" and how he was trying to sell "goods" on the planet that I got a clue in.
Good story, but I can see why some people don't like the traditional science fiction - it's not fast paced! But! As always, Asimov is amazing.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

NERD ALERT
Revisado: 01-02-18
This book is fantastic. Brilliant narration and an amazing story.
Only drawback I had was some of the math/communications where the listener would have had a better idea/understanding if they were actually reading the book, but that REALLY isn't that much of a problem.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time - it was a great ride.

Emperor Mollusk. Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth. Not bad for a guy without a spine. But what's a villain to do after he's done... everything. With no new ambitions, he's happy to pitch in and solve the energy crisis or repel aliens invaders should the need arise, but if he had his way, he'd prefer to be left alone to explore the boundaries of dangerous science. Just as a hobby, of course. Retirement isn't easy though.

It was just taking too long to get the to point. Morgan did not establish the characters in a way that held any interest to me.
I picked this book up on a recommendation and while I am sure it would have been fine if I continued, I just didn't really want to.

It is a society that is, officially, a paradise. Superior to the decadent West, Stalin's Soviet Union is a haven for its citizens, providing for all of their needs: education, health care, security. In exchange, all that is required is their hard work, and their loyalty and faith to the Soviet State. But now a murderer is on the loose.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I don't know.
Any additional comments?
I just didn't like it. It was hard to get into the story. Sure, by the time I threw in the towel we were JUST getting to the fact that there was a deeper story of when it came to the kids, but I got more than a couple hours in and lost interest.

There was a good thing going until the twist
Revisado: 01-02-18
Is there anything you would change about this book?
You know how in the Dexter books, the evil behind his need to kill people is an ancient God? So while not the same, the REASON why kind of ruins the book for me.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not the second book in this series, that's for sure.
What three words best describe John Allen Nelson’s performance?
Good Job!
Was I Am Not a Serial Killer worth the listening time?
It was quick, at least.
