Historia
It was just another sunny day at the coast when a life was changed forever. What started as a prank for a young girl resulted in the elevation of a crab's existence. Now, wrenched from its happy life at the beach, the crab...HAS AWAKENED. Sir Crabby finds himself thrust into sapience. Into a world filled with creatures both mundane and magical, a world where evil lurks beneath the waves. Join Sir Crabby as he travels beneath the ocean, discovering power, adventuring forth and searching for his young friend as he's thrust into the Eternal Conflict of Arthos.

7 Hours in and nothing has happened
Revisado: 01-12-23
I love Ryan Rimmel. I love his books, I picked this up because I've never been disappointed by him. I just had to stop on this one. 19 chapters into this book, 7 and a half hours into it, over half way through, and absolutely nothing has happened. Nothing. Sorry Ryan. I had to stop. Maybe this is extreme world building for the adventures of a crab, it could be something, but I don't see it. A crab will never be interesting enough for this much world building. The reader still has to be able to relate to the main character. This is literally one of the first books by anyone ever I've not finished. If anyone powers through it, and something happens, let me know, I might continue, but I'm moving on.

Historia
Jason logs into Awaken Online fed-up with reality. He's in desperate need of an escape, and this game is his ticket to finally feeling the type of power and freedom that are so sorely lacking in his real life. Awaken Online is a brand new virtual reality game that just hit the market, promising an unprecedented level of immersion. Yet Jason quickly finds himself pushed down a path he didn't expect. In this game, he isn't the hero. There are no damsels to save. There are no bad guys to vanquish.

Great book, poor choice of narrator.
Revisado: 11-12-16
This is an excellent book. I can't stress that enough. where they went wrong was with the narrator. I'm sorry, but the LITRPG genre requires an energetic voice to shape the world. This isn't a book that Grandpa reads to you. I will listen to the sequels however. please keep them coming.

Historia
A product of the latest technologies, Barliona is a virtual world brimming with fun and entertainment. The government has become the guarantor for the in-game currency, allowing its free circulation. As a result the population floods Barliona in pursuit of easy money. It doesn't take long for the game developers to discover a source of free labor: real-world prison convicts. While their bodies are locked in special auto-maintenance virtual capsules, the prisoners' minds are released into Barliona's virtual mines.

I'm loving the total immersion gaming novels. in the vein of Ready Player One and Alterworld, this book is great! the only downside is how long until they translate and record the rest of the series. No way to tell.....

Revisado: 12-18-15
Alterworld is a very interesting listen. I was an immediate fan of the book, author, characters, and story. In the vein of Ready Player One, and Off to be the Wizzard, Alterworld combines the best of both. if you are a fan of either books, you should not pass on this book.

Historia
Even when finding oneself engaged in interstellar war, good form must be observed. Our story is set thousands of years after the Terran Exodus, where two powerful, planet-dominating families - the elegant House Jakabitus and the less refined Hahn Empire - have reached a critical point in their generations-long war. Master Hennik, the Hahn ruler's only son, has been captured, and the disposition of his internment may represent a last and welcome chance for peace.

Basic Instructions 2.0
Revisado: 08-06-15
This is not Magic 2.0, and there is nothing wrong with that. If you enjoyed Basic Instructions, this book is for you. Scott Meyer does here what he does best. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the narration, and the story. The sci-fi setting matched with Meyer's humor make this a very unique and fun read.

The only thing he has ever wanted is to become an academy student and follow the path of his father. Unfortunately, only the best can enter the academy and Justan is a horrible fighter. Everyone tells him that he is more suited to scholarly work than swordplay.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. The title "Eye of the Moonrat" was originally somewhat off putting to me. I'm glad I jumped into this series!
What about James Foster’s performance did you like?
James Foster brings this novel to life. All the characters have interesting accents and dialect that suck you right into the world.

Historia
To become a Dark Lord is no easy thing. The simple ambition to hold dominion over the world and bend all to your will sounds straightforward, but it's not. There are armies to raise, fortresses to build, heroes to defeat, and battles to be fought. After many spectacular failures, Evil decided to lend more than inspiration to these would-be tyrants. He wrote an easy-to-follow Dark Lord's Handbook. And yet the next Dark Lord that came along screwed up like all the others.

A must listen for fans of supernatural thrillers.
Revisado: 12-03-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The Repairman Jack series is outstanding!
What other book might you compare The Tomb to and why?
It is hard to find a book that compares to this. F. Paul Wilson has been accused of creating a new genre with the RJ series. "Strange/Weird Crime". or Supernatural Vigilante.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The performance was ok. The narrator was a little too old sounding for the general overall novel. He made the characters sound like they were all in their 60's.
Any additional comments?
Repairman Jack is awesome!

It is one of the top. I routinely find myself wishing I was listening to it again.
What did you like best about this story?
Everything. Especially the setting. You would be hard pressed to find a better executed setting than the Oasis of Ready Player One.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I started out not wanting to listen to it. I thought I didn't like it, and then I kept coming back to find out what happened next. Eventually I couldn't stop listening. I took a road trip just to finish it off.
