Historia
Affairs aren’t permitted between staff members at St. Michael’s Asylum, but Carmen and her handsome young psychiatrist find a way to sneak in a kiss or two in empty storerooms when no one’s looking. It doesn’t take long for her suspicions to rise, however, as she gets to know some of the patients. Why are some kept locked in their rooms, doped to the gills? And where are the two dozen patients whose names appear on the med lists, but whom she’s never met? Moreover, what’s so forbidden about the ancient passages snaking beneath the two-hundred-year old monastery?

Excellent action, characters, premise, and pace!
Revisado: 07-27-19
I found this story to be chocked full of action involving an array of great characters. As in any great book, some of the characters I absolutely loved and others I wanted to strangle, which, along with the attention-gripping premise, caused me to look forward to driving so I could continue to listen. A unique aspect of this author’s work, in my opinion, is the pacing - it is perfect for an audiobook. The story neither dragged nor went too quickly- I listen to audiobooks often and, all too often, either have to back the book up as the narrator is speaking too quickly or get bored - this was not the case for this book. It was engaging and enjoyable - highly recommend!

A beautifully written and endearing story.
Revisado: 11-26-17
The author, Connie Chappel, used her words to illustrate this story and it's remarkable. The characters are multi-dimensional, fun, engaging, and sometimes enraging with the ability to pull at one's heart strings. The story itself, interweaves so many worthwhile topics, such as, love, relationships, regrets, choices, and grief. The narrator, Gregory Walston, has a clear and distinct voice and is easy to follow while listening to this audio version. Overall, I enjoyed listening to Wild Raspberries a great deal and would not hesitate to recommend this story to other readers.

Historia
Here is the story of David as you have never heard it before: from the king himself, telling the unofficial version, the one he never allowed his court scribes to recount. In his mind, history is written to praise the victorious—but at the last stretch of his illustrious life, he feels an irresistible urge to tell the truth. In the first volume, Rise to Power, David gives you a fascinating account of his early years, culminating with a tribal coronation. Rooted in ancient lore, his is a surprisingly modern memoir.

Historia
A mesmerizing, moving, and elegantly written debut novel, The Language of Flowers beautifully weaves past and present, creating a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others even as she struggles to overcome her own troubled past. The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love. But for Victoria Jones, it's been more useful in communicating grief, mistrust, and solitude.
