As usual, Ryan Hyde makes you think about the realities of living in the world we live in today! Found it helpful in sorting some of my own feelings especially coping with and finding perspective for life events that defy understanding. Narration was superb! Thanks…

Back and in fine form-doors wide open for more adventures in King’s Lake. Looks like Smith and Freeman will work together after all! I can hardly wait… Thanks Peter for keeping it all going.

Amy Harmon hits a resonant chord. Growing up in the 60’s and watching Detroit burn from a shore across a river, her Songbook of Benny Lement left me nostalgic and regretful. The book paints an honest picture of an eventful decade -the music, the pain and the unimaginable loss. A memorable story so richly conceived by Amy Harmon and so warmly told by Rob Shapiro.

Historical fiction at its very best-beautifully written and narrated. It is important in that it speaks to today and offers hope as we all live through our own tough times. Highly recommended...

For listeners partial to the genre, Peter Grainger’s Dc Smith series is exceptional. This particular episode as Holmes would say is ‘singular’. Treat yourself to first rate storytelling and narration. Start at the beginning with Book 1 and enjoy a memorable ride in King’s Lake and beyond.

Hana Walker-Brown sheds light on the existence, prevalence and human impact of chronic brain trauma. She does this by delivering the clinical details framed in the context of a the heart wrenching story of the life and death of footballer Jeff Astle. The issue of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) is now fully on my radar thanks to Hana’s exceptional documentary! Thanks Hana!

Authentic and atmospheric bit of historical fiction recounting the everyday intricacies of life in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Having recently spent time in Belfast and Derry, my sense at the time that something very bad had happened not so very long ago, was borne out and made clear by Milkman. It is a deserved prize winner made all the more poignant by Brid Brennan’s masterful narration.

I listened to this glorious story of Achilles and Patroclus on the heels, so to speak, of Madeline Miller’s Circe. I highly recommend both! Contemporary for sure, as they remind us that some issues transcend time. Beautifully written and expertly narrated give yourself a break from the current fare and enter a time when mortals acted like they were immortal and gods flaunted their humanity. Fascinating!
