Historia
Intuitive Eating is the go-to book on rebuilding a healthy body image and making peace with food. We’ve all been there—angry with ourselves for overeating, for our lack of willpower, for failing at yet another diet. But the problem isn’t us; it’s that dieting, with its strict rules, keeps us from listening to our bodies. Written by two prominent nutritionists, Intuitive Eating will teach you how to reject diet mentality forever; how our three eating "personalities" define our eating difficulties; how to find satisfaction in your eating; and much, much more.

New concept
Revisado: 04-23-24
New concept that’s interesting. Hoping to give it a try. I like the names of ‘Play Food’ and ‘Gentle Nutrition’. It’s great that it also has a chapter for kids. The summary at the end is helpful.

Historia
We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Minimalism - new way of life and thinking

Great book. Didn’t realize it’s more than just what you own. It’s also about feeling gratitude for what you have. And that’s hard if you have too many things distracting you from being grateful.

Amazing book. I actually bought the book after listening to it on audible. That’s how good it is. It’s definitely “better than expected” (referencing last chapter subtitle)

Historia
In this eye-opening manifesto, pediatric sleep specialists Eliot S. Katz and Carolyn D'Ambrosio explore the history of the "cry it out" industry and the medicalization of perfectly normal infant sleep patterns. They explain how the demands of modern society encourage parents to value uninterrupted sleep over their baby's needs, and to ignore important nighttime opportunities for parent-child bonding.

Makes sense!
Revisado: 08-11-22
I really enjoyed this book which was recommended to me by my sister who works with Dr Katz. I honestly thought I would do the sleep training method (being a busy parent myself) and I’m glad I listened to this before attempting to do so. The biological effects and stress induced by “cry it out” and the reasons for a baby’s awakening at night all made me steer away from this method and instead implement “comfort the kid” (even though it wasn’t easy but understanding the awakenings as being normal is helpful). I think my main fear of “comfort the kid” approach was the myth that was imbedded in my mind from society being that this method would lead to spoiled kids and being independent in the future (while this book actually addresses this and mentions that in infancy, there is no ‘over spoiling’ of babies, and that comforting them actually builds their confidence to become independent in the future by solidifying their sense of security). I’m hopeful!
Must read/ listen-to audiobook!
