Historia
Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

Classic that needs to be revisited and appreciated.
Revisado: 03-25-23
Rob Inglis is great for this book. I’ve read the book several times and listened to the audio a few. I’m glad I revisited it again after some years. Memory just doesn’t do justice to this book. Plus I needed to get the movie version out of my head.

Historia
Tap Andrews has left his past behind. He's no longer a Wyoming lawman backing down any mobs, nor a Brand Inspector dodging rustler's bullets. He has loaded up the wagon and is moving the very pregnant Pepper and their 11-year-old ward to a seemingly perfect new family life in Montana.

If you could sum up I'm Off to Montana for to Throw the Hoolihan in three words, what would they be?
Great in tying up loose ends but and still leaving room for imagination for possibilities for the characters in the future. It saddens me that the series is over.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Roundhouse. The untrustworthy horse that proved his worth and even allowed Tap to pull a bullet out of him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yep, but all in this series were.
Any additional comments?
Nope.

Historia
All Tap and Pepper Andrews want to do is settle down, buy a small ranch, get a few head of cattle, and start raising a family. But nothing is ever that easy for the ex-convict and his former dance-hall girl trying to break from the past. It seems no matter where they go or what they do, the past is already there ahead of them.

Back in the saddle again!
Revisado: 02-24-14
Who was the most memorable character of My Foot's in the Stirrup, My Pony Won't Stand and why?
Lorenzo Odessa. A new character from Tap's past that is a welcome friend that shares the same sordid past but is also a man of character. Not only do they have a common past, but they also both have horses that are cantankerous and uncooperative.
Any additional comments?
A great story line resolving issues with old and new characters with plenty of twists, turns, and humor.

Married life for Tap and Pepper isn't turning out quite the way they planned. The ranch is gone and they've moved to Cheyenne where Tap finds himself a job as acting marshal in a town that has little regard for the law. And it's not a pretty sight!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It kept my attention with adventurous twists and turns, with a nice blend of humor.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Angelita Gomez. A precocious ten year old way too smart for her own good, but good to keep the adults on their toes.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Doing the right thing will not win you a popularity contest.

Historia
In only two weeks, Tap Andrews will tip his hat and say "so long" to bachelorhood. Normally, that would be enough time to take care of business and finalize wedding plans. But considering his knack for finding trouble, it may take him longer. For instance, there's a gang of rustlers invading his ranch, a missed bank payment he didn't know about, a sniper taking potshots at him, and problems at the local dance hall. In fact, there's so much trouble that it's likely he'll miss his own wedding!

What did you love best about Where the Deer and the Antelope Play?
The insane way the wedding worked out in the end.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I don't think I could. I can see where it was necessary for the character development for the rest of the series. But just like having to eat vegetables is not as enjoyable as pie ala mode, this was filling and entertaining, but just not as tasty as the first two.
What about Jerry Sciarrio’s performance did you like?
He uses just enough emotion in his reading to be believable without over doing it.
Who was the most memorable character of Where the Deer and the Antelope Play and why?
Stack Lowry. This book was important to really show his heart for the rest of the series.

Tap Andrews is tired of fighting every gun-toting bounty hunter crossing his path. He's innocent, and he sets out to Denver to prove it. Pepper Paige would go with him, but she just can't return to Denver and face her past. That is, until Carter Dillard reappears in her life. Pepper must strike a deal that once again forces her to face a past she'd much rather forget.
