Dull. Dull. Dull. Other than the kidnapping scene, the rest of the book was dull.

Delightful Characters/Entertaining Plot
Revisado: 07-12-24
I didn’t expect to be so happily entertained as I have been with this series so far. Hopeless, Idaho, is peopled with quirky characters whose dialogues are often humorous enough to elicit snickers as the plots progress. These books are, quite simply, pleasant to listen to as a result of clever writing and a truly masterful narration by Tavia Gilbert who has more character voices than Robin Williams. She’s REALLY good. I only wish that AUDIBLE had continued with Tavia beyond this book. I would definitely purchase them all. Treat yourself, why don’t you?

Historia
Walter Pimsey was distinguished, gruff, sophisticated, and a bit of a bully. He was all of those things. And by Saturday morning, he was also quite dead. After a 12-year absence, investigative reporter Hope Walker has been back home in Hopeless, Idaho, for two weeks. Her scorecard? Lost a job. Gained a job. Got hit by a car. Made up with an old friend. Reunited with an old enemy. Made herself a new enemy. And met one seriously handsome Sheriff.

Snappy dialogue

These are upbeat mysteries and I feel good after listening to them. The narrator is exceptionally gifted at the different voices.

Hilarious! Frightening! Hilarious!
Revisado: 05-19-23
Borowitz has not lost the keen edge that makes his New Yorker Magazine political satire so funny. He has thoroughly researched the words and actions of our past Presidents and politicians, mostly Republicans, and mined them like gold. The results are as humorous as they are horrifying. It seems America prefers stupid and incompetent candidates in Washington. I could hardly wait to grab a free moment in my day to listen to the inanities of Reagan, Quale, Bush(s), Palin, and others all leading up to the most fatuous of them all, Trump, at the same time I was appalled at what I was hearing. I’ve recommended this book to everyone I know.
