Historia
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

With a twist
Revisado: 11-14-23
The usual story with a slight twist. Some of the dialogue is immature and the cursing and foul language takes away from the story and from the characters.

More great writing and stories by Agatha Christie. These stories are more obscure, so you may not have heard all of them. Great listen.

Drags on, and on and on...
Revisado: 07-08-23
This audio book could have and should have been an eight hour long book. The author does everything possible to evoke an emotional response from the listener. By the over use of emotional depictions we are left with very little substance and plot movement. I would suggest the few chapters that are a necessary the very few lines in the other chapters worth reading but I'd have to listen to this book again and that, I just can not do. Oh, and because this book drags on and on, the narrator becomes extremely annoying.

Same old same old.
Revisado: 03-23-23
This book is just like the other two. Not a bad read. This book is an okay way to pass the time. Don't expect any interesting characters with interesting backgrounds. These books take place in a world of gray where everyone looks and acts the same.

Writing racist horrible people as good people.
Revisado: 02-16-23
The writer writes the step-grandmother as this great person, but she is obviously a racist. The step-grandmother actually uses the N word, and no one in the scene blinks an eye. This makes me think they are all racists. There should be a warning from Audibles and the author that this book is for racists and simple minded and people. I will never read anything from this author again, and I'm extremely offended. I play my audio books through my Alexa device. My children or anyone else in my home could have walked by and heard that word. I don't want anyone in the world to think that anyone in my family thinks this hideous way of speaking is okay.

Her new family greets her with apathy and even resentment. Only the quiet houseguest, Silas Rotherham, welcomes her company. When Aurelie decides to complete her father's unfinished serial novel, she must keep her identity as Nathaniel Droll hidden while searching for the truth about her mother's disappearance - and perhaps even her father's death.

More layers than most period pieces make this book an intriguing and delightful treat. This book has more than one would expect in a period drama. I highly recommend.

Historia
Toni and Agatha are in the car on the way to Officer Bill Wong’s long-awaited wedding when, much to their shock, a naked young man bursts through a hedge on the side of the road and comes running toward them. Terrified, he explains that he has just seen a dead body in the woods. Toni lends him an old t-shirt to cover himself, Agatha calls the police, and the young man takes them to the spot where he saw the body, across from a meadow where the Mircester Naturist Club is due to have its annual summer barbecue.

The difference is noticeable...
Revisado: 02-10-23
The difference in the author is very noticeable in this book. You can tell this is not a true M. C. Beaton book. The word "Capacious" doesn't appear once in this Agatha Raisin Mysteries like it has in all of the other books. There is a different feel to Agatha, almost like she's a different person. The narrator is usually very good, but this time around, her range was lacking. Many of the characters sound the same. When Agatha and Charles are speaking to each other, you can't tell who's who. There should be a note on the jacket of the book noting that this are now different. The new author needs to read and study all of the previous books.

Historia
A dinner party at an English mansion with some stuffy, not-very-close friends is not exactly Jude's cup of tea. But the practically mummified torso of a woman found in the cellar is much more up Jude's alley. Once again, the two middle-aged women from Fethering, Jude and her reluctant neighbor, Carole, find themselves embroiled in another puzzling whodunit.

Historia
Of course, if there were only one thing under Liscor, there would be far less to fear. However, the dungeon continues to be a threat. At the same time, Goblins continue to roam northern Izril, but not all of them are as hostile to people as Tremborag or the Goblin Lord. Will the Unseen Emperor of Riverfarm make that distinction, however? A reckoning is coming as old faces and new reemerge. And all the while, The Wandering Inn is still serving food and respite and even plays to adventurers and Antinium alike. But something is coming from the dungeons. And it—they—are hungry.

Better than the two previous books.
Revisado: 01-11-23
This was going to be my last Wondering Inn book because the author leaves too many open storylines. The author doesn't resolve anything so the readers don't learn anything. This book had a new storyline that started & concluded. One major character is still missing in this book, and all other storylines are still flapping in the wind.
