Terrible Robot Narration
Revisado: 01-31-24
This was a cool concept on the creepy doll story. But it wasn’t good enough to carry off with a robot voice narration.
I am begging Audible not to continue using the AI, robot voices to narrate. It kills the story.

Historia
Recently laid-off from his newspaper and desperate for work, war correspondent Nick Bishop takes a humbling job: writing a profile of a new mindfulness app called Clarity. It’s easy money, and a chance to return to his hometown for the first time in years. The app itself seems like a retread of old ideas — relaxing white noise and guided meditations. But then there are the “Sleep Songs.” A woman’s hauntingly beautiful voice sings a ballad that is anything but soothing — it’s disturbing, and more of a warning than a relaxation — but it works.

Revisado: 08-11-21
Billy Summers is the vigilante I wish I could be. King always creates characters that we want to be or at least have on our side.
This is another intriguing story that allows constant readers to travel within Stephen King’s universe, making new friends and kicking evil ass.

Historia
When Notes on a Silencing hit bookstores in the summer of 2020, even amidst a global pandemic, it sent shockwaves through the country. Not only did this intimate investigative memoir usher in a media storm of coverage, but it also prompted the elite St. Paul's School to issue a formal apology to the author, Lacy Crawford, for its handling of her report of sexual assault by two fellow students nearly 30 years ago.

One story of millions
Revisado: 07-20-21
This was an interesting story of how sexual attacks on female students are covered up to protect the patriarchal organizations in our society.
The author/narrator has had to face many hurdles due to the sexual abuse two male students committed against her. It is sadly a very common crime men commit and get away with on college campuses. This story held my attention with the fine details of the setting and time period. She made her story relatable and intriguing. Although I have not endured sexual assault I believe this story is a courageous and inspiring one.

Fascinating, engrossing and emotional
Revisado: 05-15-21
I loved this audio presentation. The life of Emmon is sad and fascinating and the mystery of his death will haunt me for as long as I can reflect on the mysteries of this world. He deserved so much love and admiration for all he was and accomplished.
The investigators and the journalists deserve an award for working for justice for Emmon and for the superb storytelling of the facts.
I hate to say I loved a story about one man’s misery and that of his son. I will say that I love knowing of his life and that he was loved and appreciated.

Heroic power of young friendship!
Revisado: 01-12-20
I loved the eery setting and the sweet friendship between the characters. Just like in Stephen Kings’ IT, the power of love amongst young friends fights evil of the adult world. It’s creepy fun and made me nostalgic for my young friendships and our many adventures we had. I too love the dark themes of this genre, but wish it was a little more scary. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it a 5. It’s perfect for adults, teens and tweens.

Revisado: 05-24-19
I love all of Stephen King’s novels but Duma Key is one that I can read or listen to over and over like going back to the same beach house and enjoying it again and again.
It has full, flawed, lovable characters and all of the creep factor that Mr. King is the master of!
The Gulf Coast setting gorgeous and mysterious! I promise you will love the story!

Revisado: 10-19-16
Sean Penn was as awesome here as he was in his films. Bob Honey is everyman but too extraordinary to be the average man. He's good and bad and sweet and horrific!
I am just hoping there will be more Bob Honey tails!
I also hope Penn is the author.
