I just couldn't
Revisado: 06-11-24
I wound up returning this title because, even after following the advice in a prior review of speeding it up, this narrator is the worst. If Scott Brick was unavailable, there are plenty of other folks available to read this. As the last Foundation book published, Asimov's work deserves better. Please re-record this with a better voice - this one is better suited to sleep books.

Historia
Randy Rainbow, the man who conquered the internet with a stylish pair of pink glasses, an inexhaustible knowledge of Broadway musicals, and the most gimlet-eyed view of American politics this side of Mark Twain finally tells all in Playing with Myself, a memoir sure to cause more than a few listeners to begin singing one of his greatest hits like “A Spoonful of Clorox” or “Cover Your Freakin’ Face”.

Revisado: 11-30-22
An enjoyable visit with the man behind the Pink Glasses. Randy takes us through his formative years, letting us see how his experiences impacted him and helped create the artist we know. Surprisingly insightful, he doesn’t shy away from discomfort, and as a fellow introvert, I can’t help but applaud his fortitude. I think there are parts of the book that will resonate with everyone and some that will speak very specifically to those of us who’ve always felt a little outside.

Historia
Ady Barkan loved taking afternoon runs on the California coast and holding his newborn son, Carl. But one day, he noticed a troubling weakness in his hand. At first, he brushed it off as carpal tunnel syndrome, but after a week of neurological exams and two MRIs, he learned the cause of the problem: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. At age 32, Ady was given just three to four years to live. Yet despite the devastating diagnosis, he refused to let his remaining days go to waste.

Everyone should read/listen to this book
Revisado: 10-27-19
Ady’s story is both sad and joyous. The diagnosis of ALS focuses his fight for equality in ways one wonders would happen without it. A brilliant mind in a deteriorating body, Ady turns his advocacy for justice issues into a specific fight for healthcare. His story is empowering in the face of tragedy and I found myself crying at the unfairness yet inspired by his continued fight for his fellow humans.
