Thank you Jordan for explaining what is going on there, it is very complicated. I appreciate your willingness to discuss such a difficult issue.
In a talk by Dallin H. Oaks he quotes from the New Testament and says
“I begin with what Jesus taught were the two great commandments.
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
“This is the first and great commandment.
“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
This means we are commanded to love everyone, since Jesus’s parable of the good Samaritan teaches that everyone is our neighbor.”
