Historia
In a world just parallel to ours exists a mystical realm known only as the Gardens. It’s a place where feasts never end, games of croquet have devastating consequences, and teenagers are punished for growing up. For a select group of masters, it’s a decadent paradise where time stands still. But for those who serve them, it’s a slow torture where their lives can be ended in a blink. In a bid to escape before their youth betrays them, Dora and Thistle - best friends and confidants - set out on a remarkable journey through time and space.

This is an amazing book
Revisado: 02-20-21
If you like books like American gods, Jonathan Strange and mr Norell or other tales of gods and the Fae interacting with humans you will love this book.
It grips you from the start and takes untouched on a ever surprising journey through the multiverse and northern Sweden during the Second World War. Twists and turns and cleverness and every stop.
It takes a instant place among my all time favourite books and I can’t wait to reread it a second time while waiting for the next book by Swedish wonder Karin Tidbeck!

Historia
Coming home from the war in Iraq, US Army private Roy Scranton thought he'd left the world of strife behind. Then he watched as new calamities struck America, heralding a threat far more dangerous than ISIS or al-Qaeda: Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, megadrought - the shock and awe of global warming. Our world is changing. Rising seas, spiking temperatures, and extreme weather imperil global infrastructure, crops, and water supplies. Conflict, famine, plagues, and riots menace from every quarter.

A priest for the atheist.
Revisado: 09-18-19
Many call him a doomsday prophet.
I disagree. I call him a priest without a god that truest to give us new light in the darkness. Letting culture take the place of scripture when he preaches of the big questions of life and death. It is beautiful, and much needed.
