Want a healthier future and you grow food?
Revisado: 11-18-20
Nicole is a Master soil educator and ecologist that offers tremendous amount of knowledge for the agriculturalist and/or gardener. I have listen to "For the Love of Soil" 3 times already and still go back to different chapters as needed to re-enforce the things I have learned from the book. I love the New Zealand accent too. Great book that needs to be in all farmers, ranchers, and gardeners libraries and opened often!!!!! If you take action after you read (listen) to the book your land management practice should for ever be changed for the better.

Must read if you grow food!
Revisado: 10-28-19
Dirt to Soil is a book every farmer, ranchers, grower, gardener, extension agent and NRCS employee should read. In fact if you eat food you should read this book. You will gain a better understanding of food and nutrition. Plus gain a much larger respect for agriculture and the soil microbes that you and your health is dependent upon if you eat food! I teach school and believe that the book should be getting read in middle school so all students can gain knowledge about the future of agriculture and our food production system.

Historia
Dirt, soil, call it what you want - it's everywhere we go. It is the root of our existence, supporting our feet, our farms, our cities. This fascinating yet disquieting book finds, however, that we are running out of dirt, and it's no laughing matter. An engaging natural and cultural history of soil that sweeps from ancient civilizations to modern times, Dirt: The Erosion of Civilizations explores the compelling idea that we are - and have long been - using up Earth's soil.
