the story is actually really good and interesting and i went through the first book really liking the set up. But by the time the 2nd book came around it became clear Barb is unlikeable character and half way through the 2nd book i couldnt even continue because she just ruins the story. id say dont waste your time on this one

so i have been through all of the previos books and this is the first review i left for this series. i love the story and the plots and the char. are amazibg the problem i have is the writer is doing the same thing everyone like disney, or marvel or w.e. they add something about womens rights or w.e. all through the series. and i hate it. i love books for the stories because its an escape from the everyday world and writers and people like this want to shove everyday issues that people fight about and put it in the story. and it breaks the enchanment.

so if you read all the previous books and are a fan, you might be disappointed with this one. for one the time lines dont make sense. halt is retired butt king duncan is on his death bed. duncan was a young man when he took the throne and halt and the other barons secured his rule when morgarath. and i have no problem with girls becoming rangers but a sling is not in the same league as a bow. i felt at the end this book was lacking in story and thought

if your into these types of stories then this is definetly one of the better ones. my only issue is i listen to these at work and tge narrarator speaks in a low register or whisper in alot of places. and it gets really hard to hear. even though from what i hear is a really good job

i have a bunch of books like this series. and this definitely in the good category. i would like to mention to the author that i feel he could do better with some areas of the story. like the mc could kill hundreds of vampires and then a little down the road have trouble with a few. or he has all these powers to see and control the world around him and then he will run into an enemy strong hold blind. im sure its hard to make a situation where he struggles but when you make the mc almost superman like you have to be really creative.

i really like the story and all the characters. i really like the narrator as well but i have a problem with how soft he talks. i always listen to audible while i work and found i missed half the story because you simply cant hear anything. so this story is only good if your sitting in a quiet place and doing nothing. but still a good story

at first you think the mc came into in uderstandable tragedy and now he has to rebuild his life. and then you go through most of the book with the same enjoyable things like the previous book. and then you come to the end. and he hiys the same situation as last time where hes gone for a long period except its worse. honestly the writer has a great idea for a story. and could make endless adventures. but when he makes drama you just want to put down the book

while it was performed well the story is lacking. you get mad at the mc alot and cringe at alot of moments in the story. it makes for kind of a frustrating read

i like this series though i often want to just stop listening. because he often puts the main char. in a situation where he acts like an idiot.
