Historia
In Daretana’s greatest mansion, a high imperial officer lies dead—killed, to all appearances, when a tree erupted from his body. Even here at the Empire’s borders, where contagions abound and the blood of the leviathans works strange magical changes, it’s a death both terrifying and impossible. Assigned to investigate is Ana Dolabra, a detective whose reputation for brilliance is matched only by her eccentricities. Rumor has it that she wears a blindfold at all times, and that she can solve impossible cases without even stepping outside the walls of her home.

Great book, good voices for the characters
Revisado: 08-29-24
A really enjoyable Sherlock-Holmes esque fantasy that has great world building and characters. It’s a fun listen and worthwhile! Looking forward to the next one

Great narration, good story
Revisado: 04-06-23
It’a a solid story. Not hang on the edge of your seat, suspense but it’s really enjoyable and the narrators were great.

Historia
“From exactly midnight until daybreak, the Namiya General Store advice box will be reopening for one night only.” When three delinquents hole up in an abandoned general store after their most recent robbery, to their great surprise, a letter drops through the mail slot in the store’s shutter. This seemingly simple request for advice sets the trio on a journey of discovery as, over the course of a single night, they step into the role of the kindhearted former shopkeeper who devoted his waning years to offering thoughtful counsel to his correspondents.

1 of the 3 voice actors were good
Revisado: 03-18-23
The voice acting was pretty porous for this book. Only 1 of three voice actors were good, the others made the writing sound so forced.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Takes Way Too Long to Develop
Revisado: 11-18-21
Claimed as one of the best fantasy books of all-time, this book falls short on pacing. It felt like it took 80% of the book to create the setup where things got interesting and you wanted to keep listening.
The book keeps things interesting enough not to abandon it all together, but any book that takes so long to actually get to the real tension / conflict between the main characters can’t be rated anything above 3 stars.
Good ending. Hoping for more from the second book.
