my kids loved it! Worth the read. For a generally younger audience, but it has some gems for adults (Hambo).

He most beautiful and poetic piece of prose I’ve ever read. You feel the connection to Mother Earth on a physical and spiritual dimension. You feel the desire to sing and pray with thanks as you hear the gifts of the earth.

classic book. Mill addresses 150 years ago mang if the criticisms of utilitarian ethic that I still hear today.

this particular audio recording was problematic. About every paragraph there was a mispronounced or misread word.

If he would shut up about religious stuff this may have gotten 5 stars. I get there is a difference, that doesn't bother me ( I'm religious and say 'whatever' if people want to argue, on EITHER side). I love the science, I see it as the physical part of creation, not the spiritual. If he would just say his peace and get on with the good stuff I would have loved it. I just hate going from excited about things we've learned to rolling my eyes every few minutes.

only complaint on the science was referring to dinosaurs that were the ancestors of birds being feathered reptiles, dinosaurs were not reptiles. he knew this based on the rest of what he said, it was just irritating to digress occasionally.

Would be 5 if the abridgment was better. there are a few things that were left out that left you missing key elements of the story.

The narrator was great. The story is mostly simple and plays off of Arthurian legend style of thinking and nothing historical, which kind of is the Arthurian thing to do. There are moments of deeper thought, which are usually end with a comical something, which seems to be characteristic of Twain.

Historical worth

The value is in the historical context of when it is written. As a story, it gets old. There is good that can be pulled from it, but I think there are more modern texts that do so better. The book can help with understanding the thoughts and morals of the time it is written and that is it's real worth.
