Americans didn’t just go to the polls in 2016. They joined a movement that swept the unlikeliest of candidates, Donald Trump, into the Oval Office. Can he complete his agenda? Or will his opponents in the media, protester class, and political establishment block his efforts and choke off the movement he represents?

Amazing! Be sure to get the Audible version
Revisado: 10-13-17
No one is more qualified to write about the modern conservative populist movement than Laura Ingraham. She worked for the Reagan Administration, and has commented and written on the fall and rise of it since.
Her passion and personality shine through her reading. I don't know how she found the time or energy to write this book, but it is a "must read" for anyone interested in modern political history. And the fact that she is the reader is a special gift to us.
If you enjoyed her speech at the 2016 Convention, and look forward to her new show on Fox, you will love this book! There are a few of my favorites that I have bought the hard copy as well as the Audible copy. This is one of them. The Audible version has my highest recommendation!

Historia
Elliot Carlson's biography of Captain Joe Rochefort is the first to be written of the officer who headed the U.S. Navy's decrypt unit at Pearl Harbor and broke the Japanese Navy's code before the Battle of Midway. Listeners will share Rochefort's frustrations as he searches in vain for Yamamoto's fleet prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and share his joy when he succeeds in tracking the fleet in early 1942 and breaks the code that leads him to believe Yamamoto's invasion target is Midway.

This is a must have book for anyone interested in naval history or the Pacific theatre of WWII. President Reagan said if there was ever a battle involving tens of thousands of men whose result could be traceable to the work of one man, this would be it.

Historia
A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

In How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home, Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas explores Romans 8, which he calls the best chapter in the Bible. Here he finds an exposition of the steps through which God leads His people in the process of their salvation, but also loving counsel on such topics as prayer and resisting the Devil, as well as exhortations and comforts for weary pilgrims.

Derek Thomas shows his pastors heart in this great treatment of Romans 8. If you had 10 minutes to live, this is the chapter you want to read. His theological precision is matched by practical application, and it has been a blessing to soak it in. I've listened to it several times and it never fails to minister to me.

Historia
The 1975 Masters Tournament always seemed destined for the record books. A veritable Hall of Fame list of competitors had gathered that spring in Augusta, Georgia, for the game's most famous event, including Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Hale Irwin, Billy Casper, and Sam Snead. The lead-up had been dominated by Lee Elder, the first black golfer ever invited to the exclusive club's tourney. But by the weekend, the tournament turned into a showdown between the three heavyweights of the time: Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, and Tom Weiskopf.

Historia
On the first Sunday in December 1941, an armada of Japanese warplanes appeared suddenly over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and devastated the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Six months later, in a sea fight north of the tiny atoll of Midway, four Japanese aircraft carriers were sent into the abyss. Pacific Crucible tells the epic tale of these first searing months of the Pacific war, when the U.S. Navy shook off the worst defeat in American military history and seized the strategic initiative.

Pacific Crucible is a great first installment of a thorough history of the Pacific war. At first I thought the intro was too detailed but later I saw where the author was tying this in to the account. Highly recommended.

Sunday, December 7, 1941, dawned clear and bright over the Pacific....
But for the Dauntless dive-bomber crews of the USS Enterprise returning to their home base on Oahu, it was a morning from hell. Flying directly into the Japanese ambush at Pearl Harbor, they lost a third of their squadron and witnessed the heart of America's Navy broken and smoldering on the oil-slicked waters below.

Much has been written about Neil Armstrong, America's modern hero and history's most famous space traveler. Yet, shy of fame and never one to steal the spotlight, Armstrong was always reluctant to discuss his personal side of events. Here for the first time is the definitive story of Neil's life of flight he shared for five decades with a trusted friend - Jay Barbree.

Who better to write Neil Armstrong's biography than a trusted friend and NBC space correspondent who knows NASA like the back of his hand. Armstrong has been a hero of mine for decades, and I have read everything about him I could find. But Barbree's personal relationship with Armstrong provides fresh insights throughout. I listened to the audio, and will definitely buy the book which will be among my all time favorites. Highly recommended!
