Historia
The previous edition of this now-classic book revealed the existence and subversive manipulations of "economic hit men". John Perkins wrote that economic hit men (EHM) "are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder".

false self-promoting "confession" of a hypocryte
Revisado: 12-22-18
this book is junk. my patience was enough to only listen to part of it. even in this part it is full of logical inconsistencies, hypocritical and incoherent judgements, "confessions" that look more like as boasts. the writer sounds like a hypocritical liar whose "concious" reflections seem nothing more than another set of self-promoting lies.

Historia
Why is America living in an age of profound economic inequality? Why, despite the desperate need to address climate change, have even modest environmental efforts been defeated again and again? Why have protections for employees been decimated? Why do hedge-fund billionaires pay a far lower tax rate than middle-class workers? The conventional answer is that a popular uprising against "big government" led to the rise of a broad-based conservative movement.

Historia
Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.

Historia
Instead of the system that the Constitution intended, judges have created a system in which bureaucrats and appointed officials make most of the important policies. While the government claims to be a representative republic, somehow hot-button topics from gay marriage to the allocation of Florida's presidential electors always seem to be decided by unelected judges. What gives them the right to decide such issues? The judges say it's the Constitution.

fascinatingly irrelevant book
Revisado: 10-15-17
this book is well fit to serve as an excellent judicial textbook for white supremacists, religious fanatics, misogenists, rasists,...
The original US constitution did allow slavery, so why not return to the origins? isn't that what the founders intended?! the writer sounds like a bigot wanting to go back to the good old days...

2nd book and still great!
Revisado: 06-21-14
What was one of the most memorable moments of Words of Radiance?
I think that the fight against the 4 shard bearers at the duel of Edilan.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think there were several. But, maybe two are most memorable: When Kaladin gives Shen the Parchman his spear and when Kaladin and Shalan hide from the highstorm in the chasm.
Any additional comments?
I am NOT a fantasy fan. The fact that I enjoyed this book and the previous one (Way of Kings) so much probably speaks volumes about how good they are.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Interesting, but full of mistakes
Revisado: 07-22-09
Although the book is interesting to listen to, it is full of mistakes and inaccuracies. Just a few I have caught:
1) Lenin's first name is "Vladimir", not "Nicolas";
2) Karl Marx indeed was born into a Jewish family, but "Jewish Protestant family"??? What exactly is this??
3) Radiation of atoms due to electron moving between energy states is NOT radioactivity!!
And there are more.
May be good for someone who already knows some stuff, and may want to connect the points. Otherwise - find some more reliable source.
