Beautifully written
Revisado: 05-01-25
Absolutely love the story! The main characters are strong and well-developed—flawed in just the right ways, which makes them incredibly relatable. Who doesn’t love a man who’s good with children? I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow, not just with each other but also in their faith in God.
The author tackled a difficult subject—inequality in how men and women are treated—and did so with great sensitivity and insight. It does have a bit of a fairy-tale feel, especially in how willingly supportive the men are when it comes to children. In real life, they often need to be pushed into responsibility, even when children are born within marriage, but I guess the whole point is trusting God in an impossible situation. I actually liked the clever way the author found to “force” the men to be financially responsible—very creative!
Also, the narrator is absolutely wonderful. She brings the story to life so well, and even her male voice is really good—it never pulls you out of the moment.
Overall, I loved how the characters overcame the many obstacles that stood in their way. Their growth, their faith, and their journey together made for a touching and uplifting read.

Rosalie I’ve got one month to get my life together, or it’s going to be a very un-Merry Christmas for me! Nate is just what I need to go from hopeless to hopeful about returning home after my failed marriage. He offers me the support and comfort of an old friendship, and a job as his office manager. Working side-by-side with him is only a teensy bit challenging. Nate’s a shameless flirt, and I can’t stop sneaking glances at this cuter, ...

Revisado: 11-28-24
I wanted to tell Nate to run in the other direction and don't look back.
The voice made some funny mistakes. The voice performance needs an editor.

the narrator made the story come alive
Revisado: 07-11-24
One of my favorites! The narrator made me feel like I was watching a movie in my mind's eye, she was spot on with her characterization. I also love the gentle teasing among the lead characters, such a sweet relationship.

Revisado: 06-02-24
The narrator was so good and the storyline was captivating. A beautiful redemptive story. The pain was real. When it seemed like it couldn't get any worse, it did. But the process of healing gave me encouragement.

Hopeful
Revisado: 02-14-24
Every time I read one of her books I think, "this is my favorite." But I think this time, this really is my favorite. I feel a connection to each character and each of them has touched my life. I always wonder how God is going to redeem a situation, and by the end, once a character sees the wisdom of His ways, He always does. It gives me hope.

Renowned as much for her wit and satirical social commentary as for her stories of love and romance, Jane Austen remains unfailingly relevant and one of Britain’s best loved authors. In this Audible Original collection, an all-star list of narrators (Billie Piper, Claire Foy, Emma Thompson, Florence Pugh and Gugu Mbatha-Raw) capture Austen’s pin-sharp humour and tone in these dramatisations of her six beloved novels accompanied by a full cast.

Poor Recording Quality
Revisado: 01-22-23
I hope they re-record the first 2 books (Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility) it so hard to listen to it when it sounds like the actors are in different rooms. I've listened several times because the actors themselves are so good but I've gotten to a point that I can't listen anymore, it's too distracting. I've found other versions, although I preferred this one because it's read by an ensemble of actors. I'm so bummed, I love Pride and Prejudice and I like how they adapted the script. I'll have to wait for the remake.

Beautiful voice
Revisado: 07-08-22
The narrator has such a beautiful Scottish accent and when she sang, I felt like I was there in the story in awe like all the other characters. It's amazing how she can put the exact emotion of what the characters are experiencing, going from just narrating to be out of breath like she was actually running.
The story itself is a beautiful example of the Christian walk; so many examples for us to be inspired by. I truly enjoyed this book.

Great story but the narration is distracting
Revisado: 07-04-22
The story is great and exciting but, the narrator often uses inflection in her voice at the end of a phrase like it's the end of a sentence. I get distracted with how she reads a sentence instead of the sentence itself. Everything else about her narrating ability is great.
