Historia
Thomas Paine's The Age of Reason; Being an Investigation of True and Fabulous Theology, published in three parts from 1794, was a best seller in America, where it caused a short-lived deistic revival. Promoting a creator-God while advocating reason in the place of revelation, Paine’s controversial pamphlet caused his native British audience, fearing the results of the French Revolution, to receive it with more hostility than their American counterparts.

Historia
Skinwalkers at the Pentagon unmasks the massive scope of the Pentagon’s landmark UFO study that ran from the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. The Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program or AAWSAP investigated the “Tic Tac” and other “nuts and bolts” UFO events, analyzed intrusions of UFOs onto US military bases, as well as probed the plethora of bizarre phenomena that government investigators encountered on Skinwalker Ranch.

Incredibly detailed account
Revisado: 03-18-23
This was an excellent book. It's comforting to know scientists are in working groups and taking these phenomena seriously. The book sticks to the facts and doesn't leap to wild conclusions.
It's long past time that the stigma intentionally inserted into the American psyche regarding UAP/UFO reports is ended.
There's clearly something at work here and it doesn't seem to have a single answer. Clearly we need the military's advanced sensor data to properly investigate these craft. However, we don't need the conclusions to be hidden away by a cartel.
There is technology at work here, but also something that goes deeper. We have little to no clue about human consciousness, and how it interacts with the quantum universe.
This topic has the capability to change the course of humanity. It certainly seems, by some of their behaviors, that many of these phenomena and material craft are looking to communicate with humans. The technological benefits alone are worth the time and effort.

This can happen anywhere, and in all likelihood IS happening EVERYWHERE. The legacy of modern American policing will ring through history as one of our starkest lessons. Hopefully we learn soon, so we can move on to something more evolved with more accountability.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

From the beet fields of North Dakota to the wilderness campgrounds of California to an Amazon warehouse in Texas, people who once might have kicked back to enjoy their sunset years are hard at work. Underwater on mortgages or finding that Social Security comes up short, they're hitting the road in astonishing numbers, forming a new community of nomads: RV and van-dwelling migrant laborers, or "workampers".

An excellent insight into the ingenuity of people.
Revisado: 05-07-21
Capitalism is a lottery. Some will win by nature. Most all will lose. So it's left to us to make a life. No longer free to live in nature, in a society where people can "own" land and resources, it's becoming ever more difficult. While individuals accrue more wealth than entire nations, their power is unmatched. Impossible to change the "rules" which are weighted in their favor and ever so worsening.
This is an interesting look into how some people, up against the wall in this grotesque consumerist society are making some semblance of a life to free themselves of becoming debt slaves.
I hope this wakes people up. The criticisms of disgusting greedmongers like Amazon are spot on.

We now live in two Americas. One - now the minority - functions in a print-based, literate world that can cope with complexity and can separate illusion from truth. The other - the majority - is retreating from a reality-based world into one of false certainty and magic. To this majority - which crosses social class lines, though the poor are overwhelmingly affected-presidential debate and political rhetoric is pitched at a sixth-grade level. In this "other America", serious film and theater, as well as newspapers and books, are being pushed to the margins of society.

French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre said that "words are loaded pistols". In the hands of Russ Baker, they are hydrogen bombs. On each and every page of his masterpiece, Family of Secrets, he explodes the myths and lies that powerful forces have perpetrated on the American consciousness. He digs beneath the surface in a form of journalistic archeology to reveal the hidden history of one of America's most powerful families, leaving no stone unturned.

Required reading for every American.
Revisado: 10-31-20
The only way to achieve functional Democracy is with an informed electorate. This book, and the information within, should be required reading for high school students. Along with much else. This neofeudalist oligarchy that has emerged in the US is in large part thanks to these corrupt, greed mongering families like the Bushes, and the Clintons.
There's so much out there in the public sphere regarding how corrupt, nepotistic and cronyist these oligarchs are, putting it into a cohesive narrative makes it stick. I shudder to think what we DON'T know.
Phony "Christian" conservatives, like the Bushes, are a blight on the Nation. They want socialism for them and their cronies, while the rest of us get rugged individualism. How many more Presidents can we have whom have never worked a single minute in their lives?
A must read.
