Jordan draws from many different areas of thought and wisdom from ancient times. I think he has created here a bridge from the current godless secular view of things toward belief in a creator of all things. I do wish he would have included Confucius, because I believe he would help build that bridge, as Kong Qiu tried to do during his time of chaos.

The Truth, Plain and Simple

Holy Spirit Inspired, a must read for anyone trying to understand what's going on in America. The Devil has taken control. Jesus Christ is soon to return. However Phil seems to have forgotten to make known the fact that the Civil authorities (Governments of all types) are also appointed by God, and we had better obey them, as well. See Romans 13. When the Governments get out of line, and they can, and do, God realigns them. Is our government out of line? It sure is, and it's high time God deals with it, and with the SARS-CoV2 aka Corona virus pandemic hitting the USA as hard as it is, it shows us to be a target. What? Did you think this virus was made by Bill Gates? Wrong! Was this virus made in China? Wrong! Was this virus made by the Devil? Wrong! This plague was made By God! See Habakkuk 3:5. What is the mark of the Beast? It is not some micro chip. Phil points it out, it's America's faith in the works of men over God, money aka Mammon has become America's master. See Matthew 6:19-28.

Mandatory Textbook

This needs to become a textbook taught in public schools as a mandatory course. Not sure what age level, but similar books can be written at each grade level, all the way up to seniors in High school. America is a mess, because people are left to themselves to figure out how best to manage their anger, without the wisdom of accumulated knowledge by the wise. We tend towards dishonest manipulative tactics, or power plays to coerce others, thus narcissism has become the norm, with mass killing as one if the outcomes, and far worse is certain to come, if nothing is done today. Managing one’s own anger is not accomplished in one day, or one reading of this book, it’s more like learning a new language and requires a lifetime of effort.

More Thankful, Awed

The painstaking planing, time, and energy needed to prepare the planet for The LORD’s greatest creation, namely Adam, made in God’s very own image is Awe inspiring. From the Big Bang, to the details involved to get to where we are now, is no trivial act of magic. It was a stepwise sequential process that took billions of years, and although complete, a veting process is currently at hand as to who inherits it. For the camp who say “In the beginning God simply said ‘abracadabra’ and boom! Here we are!” Promotes a kind of mindless trivialness to it all. One has less appreciation if any, less awe inspiring fear if any, and less faith if any. Sadly the same holds for those who want to remove God, and ascribe it all to a random accident. I look at the plants, animals, and my fellow human beings in a much different light, and praise his holy Name. Thank you Heavenly Father, and Son for all you do for us, and for giving us people like Hugh Ross and his team at reasons to believe.

Secular wisdom

Tonya has learned a ton from our dear school, experience. But I’m sure she picked up a thing or two from a good book or two. All of this drama can be avoided if we just trusted in the one who created us. His manual is found in Holy Scripture, starting from the sermon on the mount, into the Gospels, onto the epistles, leading to the Torah, …, as well as the rest of sacred literature. His recommendation is arranged marriages, but not forced. See Ex 22:16,17; Deut 22:13-30; 1Tim 2:8-15. Consider books by Henry Cloud, John Townsend as well but keep in mind that these are secular teachings with some scripture sprinkled in. Viz they are highly leavened bread.

Summers removed the log first from his eye

First of all, although Marc may not be aware of it, he has applied a powerful principle in scripture to near perfection, found at the very beginning of Matthew chapter 7. He has figured out how to extract the speck from his brother’s eye, by first removing the log from his own. As a new born Christian, and someone who came into it with a secular mindset it was a shock to learn pornography and sexual misconduct of any kind, is a fast ticket to hell fire. How am I going to get control? I have been working on this off and on with a mixed bag of success for some time now, mostly because I just didn’t think it that big a deal. Sadly most Christians don’t either, which makes it all the more difficult to stop. It is a huge deal, not only for Christians, but for anyone who wants to function well in society. I am not saying sex in and of itself is bad, it has a powerful intoxicating enjoyment, that was designed for the purpose of procreation & intimate bonding between husband and wife. Pornography and masturbation is a twisted misuse of sex, that will only serve to destroy our society if not tamed soon. Thanks Marc, & Godspeed

Clear and well organized

Randsburg does an excellent job of organizing the material in an easy and understandable fashion. I would recommend this lecture to all Christians, Jews, & Muslims, with a interest in our religious roots.

With regards the pierced/piercing messiah if I where a scholar, I would leave it ambiguous as is the case in interpreting many of the controversial laws and rules within Biblical literature, and because it seems to go both ways, but mostly, it avoids senseless hatred.

Sirach is pretty clearly not a feminist throughout his writings save this translation as far as I can tell. In Verse 33:19 the CEV includes the word husband as someone not to give one's power over to, so as to say that a wife should not give anything she owns to him, or any of her power to her husband. It seems to encourage outright insubordination between all parties. If we accept the tenth commandment ( Exodus 20:17; Deuteronomy 5:21) a wife is her husband's property, nothing she has is really her's, not her children, not her clothes, not even her womb. Not saying women of the OT didn't have rights, but they were and still are the property of their husbands, and if not married, their father. Patriarchy Rules!!

“Give not thy son and wife, thy brother and friend, power over thee while thou livest, and give not thy goods to another: lest it repent thee, and thou intreat for the same again. As long as thou livest and hast breath in thee, give not thyself over to any. For better it is that thy children should seek to thee, than that thou shouldest stand to their courtesy. In all thy works keep to thyself the preeminence; leave not a stain in thine honour. At the time when thou shalt end thy days, and finish thy life, distribute thine inheritance. The only thing I would complain about here is that the readers read the intro to each section which summarizes that section, and spoils any surprises that a first time reader might not have normally expected.
