It all sounded great. And worked great over the three days, and next three weeks...

Then our kid got bored of the sticker rewards, once he lost interest we changed the reward to bubbles, or poppers or whatever other treats to try to keep him motivated.

But yeah he just didn't care, so now because I have severe morning sickness and not the tolerance to clean up wees all day everyday - we did in fact put a nappy back on 5 months after we started... But training pants underneath - so he knows when he's wet but the mess is contained. He does take himself to the toilet for poos thank goodness.

I mean sure, my kid by all accounts is toilet trained - he knows how to pull his pants up and down. Climb the step at toilet, he empties the potty when done or flushes... He knows what to do and he knows when the urge comes as he was taking himself to the Loo for a while. He knows how to wash his hands.

But he only goes when he wants to go now... Or I can leverage him to go with something he wants. He's done with the rewards, he doesn't care.

I wish we had never bothered with the sticker chart it just set us up for it all being about leverage.

He was 2 when I started he's now 2.5.

I love my 2 cats and my dog and all other animals and care for them like they are my kids. I buy cage free eggs and organic chicken. Like I was doing my bit.

This book brought me to tears on 3 occasions. It made me ask myself why I'd been so ignorant for so long.

Eating Animals looks at a number of different perspectives around eating animals, in particular factory farming of Turkeys, Chickens, Pigs and Cattle. I actually had no idea about where my juicy steak or roast pork came from, or at what cost to the animal (besides it's life). Now I know about this information.... My eating habits will never be the same.

In addition to this I also read The China Study (also on audible) which is a book on the statistical findings of several research studies that indicates that animal protein is harmful for us (heart disease, cancer, diabetes). That book as well as Eating Animals also discusses in brief how governments are lobbied by corporate food companies to tell consumers what is good for us and what isn't.

I will say this book is quite long and there are a couple of a occasions where it repeats stuff... but overall it is well written and set out and I know I will live a better healthier life now having read it.

Where does Fight Back and Win rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the top 5, it's one of few 6-7 hours books that I listened to non stop until I finished it.

What other book might you compare Fight Back and Win to and why?

Lisa Bloom's 'Think' ... Lisa is Gloria Allred's daughter and that is what lead me to her book, they are very similar in their attitude, outlook and ways of thinking about things. They also have a very similar sense of humour. Both great books for women, or men for that matter.

Which scene was your favorite?

I laughed every time she impersonated most of the men mentioned in the book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely

Any additional comments?

A must read/ listen for any woman, this lady and her willingness to fight unfairness, even if there is a possibility of losing should be an inspiration to all women. It is to me anyway. If you don't take on what challenges you, you allow it to defeat you anyway.

Enjoy, she's sharp as a tac and a crack up too :)

Basically a book about the different ways individuals show and receive (feel) love and appreciation. Glad I got the singles ones, it talks about how to get more out of your family, friends, housemates, work colleagues etc... and a definite must read for anyone in a relationship or marriage.

This is one of the first books I listened to on Audio that wasn't a personal development book.I've read a number of other military books, wasn't sure how I'd go listening to one, but it was pretty good... brilliantly written / narrated, the author gives you every detail of what it is like to be a POW for so many years... it's sad and horrific in so many ways, but it's a part of history we all should know about.

It makes sense if you can get past the hocus pocus

I originally bought this book some time ago but didn't get that far into it before the author lost credibility with me. The challenge I faced with it, was that the intro is Esther Hicks explanation as to how she came up with all of this: She's channeling a being called "Abraham" ...

For me personally.... I like theories, and that is what the law of attraction is, a theory... that are based on research, studies, naturalistic observation.. life experience (which ok, it does mention in the book), or whatever... but I just need more down to earth stuff to back this up - which is available in other books and dvd's. Whereas this really is just, Abraham says this... so this is so...

HOWEVER....

Take away that hocus pocus and it does make sense. For example.... I don't believe in god/ jesus (and the story behind it) But when you look at the ten commandments, they are all very good principals to live by for a variety of reasons, not just because God said so.

The narration in this book by Jerry is quick, it's as though he doesn't stop for punctuation.

If you can get past that, and just take in what they say about the law of attraction, I think everyone would benefit... If you're still rattled by the whole channeling of Abraham thing, look for other books on the Law of Attraction to compliment this one.

It's really easy to listen to, really flowing, great messages. I've been trying to learn how to meditate (and feel good from it) and struggling. I bought this audible too kind of as an alternative. I feel great after listening to it especially if I listen to it while walking. Tomorrow, I think I'll try meditating after listening to this on my walk :)

I've been getting into all this stuff since a friend introduced me to the secret years ago. I liked the concept, but I wasn't sold, it was all a bit 'hocus pocus' to me. I then did more research on the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking and it started to make logical sense....

When I read the title of this book I was more curious than anything. However, the books message is right.... You can't just think positively about everything and when bad things happen go 'nevermind, something good will come out of it' .... It shows you that you can't ingnore your problems, in fact you should look at them more closely and do something about them.....

It reminds me of the saying 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results'

Earlier in the year I wrote down the top 5 things that cause me the biggest amount of stress in my business and my life - and focused on what to do about it..... The result was basically creating a much more positive and stable working environment and personal life.

Listening this book made me know I am on the right track....

The story that is told makes you understand it pretty good too.

Narration is creepy!

Total

Revisado: 05-26-11

My friend recommended this book to me, raved about it.... and given all the changes (for the good) he's made in his life, I figure I would download it. Problem was, the voice reading the book gave me the creeps, seriously I tried a few times to listen to it on a number of occasions to see if the narration either got better or didn't creep me out so much, but it didn't. My friend read the book, not listened to it on audio. I've listened to a few audio books now and this is the only one I couldn't listen to because of that reason. Sorry, I'm sure the message is probably really good!
