Some generic advices and too much anchored in the bible but just the nice parts.
Better can obtained in stoicism by also other historical works.

I hoped better but it is what it is. the story I not scary nor that exited but more about feelings of Dr Frankenstein.
lastly just compared a written book or even the Wikipedia page and we can see some parts are missing. Without going deeper let's just admit this was not an unabridged version.

Please stop the use of Latinx. I'm from a Latin culture you can call me Latino.
Or use our countries we maybe be: Spanish Mexican, Italian, Peruvian etc etc.
This idea from progressive people that they can talk for millions of people and decide they should be adressed by Latinx instead of Latinos is one of the best example of neo-colonialism I've ever seen.

After reading several of classic works old and modern, called  "great ones" i was excited to take down Ulysses, after "Great expectations" "Lolita" "Dracula" "Moby Dick" and many others.
But "Ulysses" is a fraud, this is a book elevated to greatness by some experts but there is nothing to learn, the prose is sometimes beautiful and erotic but overall this makes no sense, the story is shallow worthless and just doesn't make sense.
Take "D. Qioxote", The Iliad or even Harry Potter all can bring value to your life, but "Ulysses" is a mess if you could go to the 42 h and say it's an amazing good for you, but saying it's a great book of all time is hubris.

Shad universe

This is one work had to review.
Upfront I'm a bit bias, I follow Shad on youtube and I think he's a nice guy, but I'll do my best to be impartial.
The Shadow of the Conqueror brings us a fascinating new world to explore with it's own rules, people and unique cultural habits. Although I think Shad does a good job establishing this fictional universe some of the descriptions specifically on the earlier chapters seem to be out of place. I'd prefer the use of some appendix or finding a more meaningful way for the characters to explain the world to us. Perhaps Dalus could be talking to a child about skyships and darkstones.
Now for the story our "Hero/former villan" is an interesting mixture of Napoleon, Stalin, Lenin, Alexander and Ceaser's all in one plus a great mechanic, fencer and master Smith.
It's fair to say just as a human, he is already over powered, still Shad shows us that he is not invincible and at times meets his match.
The story of his past is similar to many great dictators, particularly those that seek to create a more equal world via a centralised economy and the idea of actions no matter how cruel justifing the means, as long as the greater good is the objective.
My only critique is perhaps the excessive sexual focus and not pointing out that in fact every time we centralised resources it only works for a while until unavoidable famine and misery rise, since individual freedom to create and add value to society is crushed under the guidelines of a central power. The over focus on war was completely unnecessary, even the most powerful current comunist government understands that some freedom, particularly economic one is necessary to prevent it's collapse and keep growing.
On the present story I must say it was enjoyable I get the feeling that Arek the bringer is acting as Shads voice at times, sharing wisdom and moral compass. Some fight scenes read like an anime with so much going on and the protagonists talking to themselves and each other.
I'm honestly not sure if I like or hate our protagonist, I could easily see him becoming corrupted by power once more, i can't feel more sympathy. On the other hand Laira is perhaps too perfect and easy to connect.
The end was very predictable and the redemption could be better worked.
Still there is a looming evil in the Shade and room for improvement in further stories.
Overall it's not perfect but enjoyable. I got me saying blackened shade and other curse words around the house, for that I'll give it a solid 4 out of 5.

Undoubtedly a work that changed fiction and vampire lore.
The use of diaries and letters as a way to tell the story is perhaps bizarre to younger generations, but it is the perfect look and a time and age where most educated people actually had personal diaries and huge writing desks for correspondence.
The author also makes several references to the scientific state of affairs of the time, again a wonderful way for us to look at the past with the eyes from the past (something modern writer's and activists should learn to do).
Only minus the narrators promoted on the cover, have minor parts by comparison to others and it almost looks like fake advertising.

The story is fine its certainly not the best of any of it's authors but a mix of mystery and ultimately more of a novel.
My big surprise was the reader very pleasant and made me wish the book was longer.

The narration is flawless, the story is disturbing but brilliant it's hard to imagine but the brutal and dark reality behind the protagonists mind comes to life. I'm not sure if I should hate or pity Humbert Humbert, it's a true portrait of a dark human soul.
